yes you can run a few tunes loaded into the pcm. vince from trifecta cracked that a while back. you can have the stock tune under normal conditions, dealer visits, valet, etc. hit the TC/cruise/even fog light button and you have the tune of your choice. 24 psi or gmpp stage 1 or a meth tune whatever you want. best part is the trifecta is not detectable by a gm tech when you visit the dealer.

i believe he said there is room for like 5 tunes on the pcm. isn't technology wonderful?

currently you can have the gmpp stage 1 tune or you can have an hptuner or trifecta version of that tune using the 3 bar map that comes with the gm tune(allows to read over 22.5 pounds of boost that the stock map can't handle) or you can have just the gmpp tune, or a trifecta tune not based off the gmpp tune with the stock sensor(which is what I have), or you can have a straight hptuner tune, but a straight hptuner tune can't read over 22.5 pounds currently, so there is the "pill mod" which kind of tricks the computer, but i won't get into that

all kinds of options.

my 1st does suck anyway you slice it, so i start my races from 2nd at 40mph, right at 4k
Dam thats actually cool as hell, i believe it is Vishnu that makes a similiar type tune for the BMW 335i and they guarantee that the tune will go unnoticed when the car is in for warranty work.

....sometimes i wish my car saw such gains with a "secret tune"

Great runs. That Cobalt has some top end on the other ones. Impressive because the SRT-4's I've seen all shined on the highway.

my 4th pulls pretty darn good but my boost drops from 24psi to around 21 or so by redline. the computer has parameters built in not to overspin the turbine shaft, so kind of a safety device i guess

top end is pretty good, but once into 5th its game over

Yeah This is why I want a new car

walk on a gm lot or any dealer lot and buy a new car with stock 300-500hp and just add a tune and gain crazy power!

not like the old 80's and 90's obd1 early obd2 cars

Yeah getting a new car is 100x better than sliding credit cards and racking up $25,000 in bills to have a car that'll barely run 12's... if 12's at all... if it even runs!

so the srt4 wasn't running more boost than stock? because with those current mods if he didnt increase the boost any he got minimal power gains over stock.

Wastegate. They are better then manual boost controllers for increasing boost, at least with SRT4s they are.

Yes indeed

For $250 or less (Wastegate, Ebay DP, CAI) you can make them very formidable off a roll. I think most people here would be suprised by how they would fare against one with just those mods.

They are the worst for traction. I roll around on MT ET Street Radials (235/60r15) all the time, because it doesn't make sense to make power and not be able to use it. 'Course mine isn't just a bolt on car...

funny to see other turbo cars drop back between shifts since we have the no-lift-shift thingy........f'n sweet!
That really doesnt matter, on these stock turbos if you drop back it's because of bad shifting, not lag.
