Default MS3 SS meets a 580rwhp Whippled Lightning

So I have this guy that lives across the street from me with a smoking hot daughter.. and one day, I'm out cleaning my car and she is doing the same. I cant help but stare, when around the corner I hear that signature s/c whine. Its a fully built 347 Whippled Lightning with every possible mod one could have. I of course start talking **** to the guy and ask him if he wants to do something and he sluffs it off saying "Dude my truck makes 580/630 at the wheels". My reply..."Its still a truck!" So he dodges me for around a month and then we finally met up on the street about a week ago and he nuts up and says we can do a 30 and 50 roll, of course the 50 roll would benefit him seeing as how the truck makes plenty of boost. 50 roll it is..as soon as i put my foot in it, I put 2+ lenghts on him and continued to run away to 130. I beat him so bad, there was no need for a 30 roll. This just goes to show that that RWHP number...is just a number, my car only makes 380 to the wheels.

LOL, yea it is true....it still is a truck and weight is NOT on his side. My bro had a race up on here not long ago of a supposed 380 RWHP lightning. My brother mustang makes 404 to the wheels and the guy kept saying he though it would be pretty close. Each race we probably put about 6-7 cars on him and he was in awe he lost so bad. Horsepower is just a number.

Oh and yea, pics of girl!

Nice Kill! It's always fun to embarass someone. And yes, HP is just a number. You should have bet the race on his GF (granted she was down). I think I've been watching too much tokyo drift...

Agreed: a 480rwhp Lightning would have been a good run with OP. 600+ would have steam rolled him. Win's a Win though!

' a fully built 347 Whippled Lightning with every possible mod' is going to make more than 580 rwhp...........

Was this a Gen1 or Gen2 Lightning - real curious about the '347' part as the Gen1's came with a 351 ci engine and the Gen2's came with a 330 ci engine.

Sounds like there was more than a little BS being thrown................................

SVTRyan in my vids has a fully built 331. All forged. Cams, Trickflow heads, full exhaust, whipple 2.3 running 15#s, billet flow TB, 100mm Maf, the works. Through a stock badly dying trans and 3.73s it made 550whp and 600wtq. Probably pick up another 50 with a built trans and winter tuning. 550 isnt too far off for a built 2v F/I modular.

(and before anyone says it, yes dying auto trans can slip bad enough to lose a good amount of power just like a bad clutch, thats why I say 50, its got the room to hit 600)

The truck has almost identical mods as SVTRyan, and he also has a built trans and a mid sized converter. I told him I'd run him in my duramax next lol

good kill, but the lightning had a better chance the slower you guys went from. aerodynamics and weight kileld the truck especially going to 130mph.

im about to put a HSW 125 plate kit on and see what it does. Hopefully i can get into some low 11s. It runs 11.8-9 now so we'll see what happens. The guy claims his lightning will run low 11s

Yeah I think the guy was trying to scare off the OP and since the3 OP didn't go away he had to run him finally. He can do one of a few things, say he was on low boost, say he had a slipping belt or say his built 347 was actually a stock lightning with a stout exhaust, some cool color gauges(I like purple or blue) and that's it.

I am going for number 3
