05-10 Stangs run mid 13s to high 13s period. If someone is getting slower than that, it's not the car. The best I've seen a COMPELTELY STOCK S197 (2008) run was 13.3. I am saying 13.5 as the best.
99-04 Stangs run high 13s (VERY HIGH) to low 14s. The best I've SEEN a COMPLETELY STOCK NewEdge run was 13.7. I put the baseline as 13.9.

You can't give the exact average for one platform... Slightly better than average for another... And slightly under the average for another.
If you are going to say what a platform runs on average you have to be COMPLETELY unbiased 110%, and I don't see that most of the time when you throw out averages. You are a LOT better than when you first got here but still are biased in many of them.
If the FASTEST you have seen is a 13.7.. Why would you put a baseline at 13.9?
Whether we like it or not.. When talking ***********************AVERAGE******************** * you can NOT take weather/driver/track prep/etc etc etc out of the equation. Why? Because that ALL plays into what cars run on AVERAGE!!!! IF you want to talk what a car is capable of... Sure take all that out of the equation.
Put it this way..... Fastest 05+ you have seen run is a 13.3... Fastest 04- you have seen is 13.7. That is .4 slower... Meaning if the 05+ is running mid-high 13s, how is the 04- running high 13s on average? You are giving a true average for one and above average for another.
I have explained this before... I don't see how you don't see what you do.

I've got a friend who is running 12.8s in his catback/intake/can tuned mach 1. People really seem to underestimate these cars. The 4.6 with a high compression ratio like the ls1s will run. Ford's mistake with the 2v and 3v were designing them for 87 octane. Mach 1 vs. f-body is always going to be a driver's race from everything I've seen personally.

And Cobras run faster than Camaros.

I just thought I'd point out that we've been waiting nearly a decade for Chevy to come up with an answer. They haven't yet.

Last I checked GM sold more 2010 SS last year than Ford sold 2003-4 Cobras.
IMO GM isn't really concerned about the Mustang/Camaro rivalry. The Z28 and Corvette is where they are focusing... Why should they? The Camaro is selling, and good.

Considering the S197 was only 40more HP and weighed somewhat more, how is that really hard to believe?

Answer to what? The Cobra? I didn't know they needed to try to compete with a car that was made in 2003-4...?

I said the fastest I'VE SEEN.
Then in that case, the average LS1 Fbody owner runs 14s. Do we want to really go there?
I didn't say fastest RAN. I said fastest I'VE PERSONALLY SEEN. I am pretty sure someone has gotten faster than a 13.3 in a stock S197. Probably not by much.

Average fbody runs 14s? Then can we agree that the average 99 GT runs high 14s/low 15s. I will agree to that if you can agree to that. At least that is an accurate gap between the two ON AVERAGE.
Come on man..... Hopefully one day you will understand what I am saying. This is the only time I have seen you be so stubborn about something, you won't even try to see my point. If you saw it, you would agree. I have zero doubt about that. It bothers me so much with you because I know you are more intelligent than the majority of people on here and can actually comprehend what I am saying, you just don't want to for some reason.

More like Chevy produced more Camaros than Ford did of the 03-04 Cobra. And the 2011 Mustang is already selling better. That has always been a trend between the Mustang and Camaro. Mustangs have consistently sold better than Camaros since the 60s. Being faster is just a bonus now. It will be interesting to see how much longer Chevy can continue production before throwing in the towel yet again.
How can they sell 03-04 Cobras in 2010, regardless of how many of either were made?
Did you not pay attention to the numbers of the 2010 GT/Camaro sales?

You are literally the worst poster on this board. Do you know the difference between present and past tenses? I'm really not trying to stereotype , but you certainly aren't helping. I fear you are under the false impression that randomly insulting others will somehow convince people that you have a legitimate argument. Maybe you should sit back from the computer for a minute and just calm down. I have an appreciation for all quick cars, but it is people like you that have steered me away from owning an f-body. What people like you don't understand is that flat out denying the existence of better and faster cars just makes people look down on Camaro owners as a whole and in turn you're hurting the brand you seem to care for so very much.
