For all intent and purpose, DA is irrelevant when it comes to a stock (or GMs1) Cobalt. This was proven when more than 1 GMs1 trapped 104-105mph with a DA around 3200, then 104-105 at the same track when DA was near Zero. While other cars picked up as much as 4mph. A lot of why GMs1 cars can beat "faster" cars is because most cars (esp N/A) suffer with changes in DA.

Race again in the winter and you'll see what I mean. That G8 will pick up a good amount of power and the Cobalt will stay exactly where it is.

you make a good point. isnt the computer programed to boost just enough to make the power it is supposed to make?
cobalt always feels just as fast in extreme heat as cool nights. i have hot lapped the hell out of it and it traps within 1mph

by the winter you could have a trifecta tune, and then the g8 won't be but a speck in your rearview.

my TF tuned car gets the same amount of boost in winter as summer.

It's just the nature of turbocharged cars.

The turbo is going to pressurize as much air as the wastegate is set to allow, so dense air or not, the same amount of molecules are going to be stuffed in there.

Turbo cars naturally are effected less by the change in DA. However the Cobalt's ECU takes it to another level. It is not set to a certain boost level. It's a torque based ECU and it makes that torque no matter what. When the DA is out of control it'll run like 22psi. Without changing ANYTHING it'll run ~15psi in the winter.

Add forced induction to the G8 to make up for the additional weight and the Cobalt will be a speck in the rear view mirror.

if you do go trifecta for more "merging" power

make sure you datalog the **** out of it to get it dialed in.

No matter how you look at it, comparing these 2 cars is like comparing apples & oranges, so there's no fair way to make a good comparison.

who is comparing?
i made no mention of my bluetooth, brembos, buckets, 18's, front mount, etc etc.

the concept of the thread is a race.....where the DD apple tore up an DD orange

I'm talking about comparing them in race, not by features.
