FINALLY!!! Cobalt SS Stage 1 vs. G8 (daytime VID!) Well, here it is........................................
So I have talked about it and talked about it. My buddy has a nice *** G8 with exhaust and I have been itching to line up the Slobalt with him.
He came by to pick up a tool and we joked about lining them up. After we agreed we were bored and had nothing better to do on this toasty/clear day, we decided to head out. We have us a nice rural patch of 1/2 mile road made specifically for a local guy that owns a farm and wont sell even though the housing has boomed. Rather then share the secret, lets just say it is never used except by the nice farmer
Slobalt: 4 door, GMS1 (GM stage kit that keeps warranty estimate adds 20hp/40tq) and muffler delete...NO BRAKE BOOSTING. Just hit the gas on the beep.....that's it besides my bald *** stock 225/50/18 contis
G8: exhaust
Went on 3 beeps from around a 15-18 roll. Both of us in 1st with me at about 5k from that speed, so I needed 2nd about 2 seconds into the hit. As you can see, he hung for about a second
We went from a stop too but I sucked at the vid (hello, no passenger and I got a stick-shift!) but I managed to get the launch thru 2nd gear. I pulled on the launch just as much as the roll so I apologize for missing the full run. Either way, I just wanted to show what power to weight means and for all you *****'s in your stock V8's, quit ignoring the lil slobalt throwin a few blow-offs trying to get your attention, you may be in for a surprise

p.s. he never let off and when he peeked at his speedometer, I continued to pull. Ended a good 3-4 cars ahead.

yup,
hand firmly on wheel, phone trapped between thumb and 1st finger.
driving took presidence over vid. thats why u got the crappy 2nd vid.
for my next trick, i shall sip a latte, play solitaire, talk on bluetooth and bang some gears

after i get some tires im goin back to the track.
pretty annoyed i didnt at least try the launch control my last time out but it obviously works better then i thought
best of 14.08 @ 105 so far on my crappy conti's.
im sure it has a high 13 at 105 in her with some new tires

guess i shows the times i culd run if 1st geat wasnt useless at the track..
im mad i didnt try the launch control at the strip. i didnt realize itworked so well. bet i woulda had my 13 if it got my 60ft under 2.35
