Default ms3 ta vs ls3 vet *daytime vid!

http://www.streetfire.net/video/cam-...c6_2050260.htm

I was on motor. This vet was sweet, let me tell you. Completely stock. We ran several times but these were the only two clean runs. Hope you enjoy! It was fun.

Why do you think that? Its lighter they make 360-380rwhp stock. And they have trapped 116-118 stock? I thought the TA did very well especially pulling a lighter car with similar power and better aerodynamics up top?

Goddamn I want an LS3. That was one close race. Throw some heads on it and get the win.

A few people said that I should have pulled the vette that I raced harder. I think some people don't think there is much difference between the LS2 and LS3, but it's very noticeable in a race.

Good run!

This is a small rant but bear with me.

I'm not sure where the Grand Sport fits in? (To me).

It's got the steel frame, not alluminum as the C6Z (adds weight). It's got the LS3 engine like the base model C6 and it's got the removable top like the base (adds weight) and it has the larger wheels, widebody and brakes as the C6Z (adds more weight) and reduces the Cd. I think the base C6 is a .27 where as the C6Z (widebody) is a .33 or .34 or similar.

So in essance, you pay nearly the C6Z premium but you get the heaviest LS3 C6 made to date..? I don't even think the fenders are carbon fiber on the GS...?

They simply should have installed the LS7 into the GS's IMHO. Then atleast you have the LS7 with the removable roof...

Anyway.... again, great run

lets me address you rant..

I think the base vette is a great car but aesthetically it does not do it for me. (I would have kept my 04 if the GS was not created). The steel frame provides rigidity so they can run the targa (thats way the z can't the aluminum is like a noodle without the targa). The GS is the heaviest but, its only like 100 pounds more than the base....wow not that much. Which comes from the addition of the sweet brakes(better than the base) bigger tires, nicer rims and a baller body kid. I would rather have 100 pounds and this look. The person in the other car can have a passenger or could weigh more. Once again evening the score.

Not everyone goes out looking to race at every light or highway. To add to this your drag number .27 to .33 which is such a small amount and can easily be combated by good driving. hell just roll the windows up and you will be good. The difference in a strait line is so close that it shouldn't be up for debate.

In the twisties I get a wider stance without piecing my car together with fenders that didn't come with the car. not to mention I a DRY SUMP OIL SYSTEM and I believe I get a forged crankshaft.(i think).

As far as price I sure did not pay anywhere close to a z06 not even a new 09 1lz z06 was close to what I paid. and I got a 3lt package. No one pays sticker in this economy and whoever does is a sap. I get all of this for 5k more which I will get back in resale value.

I think the GS is an aesthetic package and I'm ok with that. I like my cars to look sweet and perform well. Not that the base doesn't look good just not as good as the GS imo.

yeaa first post...

All I got from your post was "I didn't get a Z06" and "yeaa first post".

Sounds like a double fail? (kill section posts dont count towards your post total). haha just poking some holes in the balloon is all. Welcome to the Kill Section!

BTW: fill me in vet owners, I'm kinda confused as to what happened on my way home from work this morning.

Cruising down the empty highway I come up on a debadged, lowered, nice rims and loud exhaust black C5 Z06. Guy was in his mid 30's and looked like a car guy by the way he looked over at my car when he heard me next to him. I paced him and he kept looking so I thought he might want to play= so I dropped down into 3rd: he stared again but that was it. Tapped the gas lightly to see if he would take the challenge but he didnt.

As I got next to him again I dropped to 2nd gear (sedately: I'm the most un pushy race instigator out there). As I got next to him he looked at me and I gave him the 'wanna go?' look and palm up hand signal. He got this disgusted look on his face, eyeballed my car up and down, then rolled his window up shaking his head like I was some scumbag in a fart canned Honda. WTF?? I even shaved today damnit! So I went WOT to 7,000rpm then letup just to vent. ............. then a damned GSR honda thing that was following me tried to race me. :faceplant:
