Default Mannyman84 vs ls1 Z28 *VIDS*

Well, i see that many people on here have been hating on Mannyman84's threads. Well, yesterday i got to meet up with him and we went for a quick friendly run aginst an ls1 z28. I was the passenger filming

2002 Trans Am WS6 6 speed - He popped the hood and only has a k&n air filter, lid, no BS, otherwise stock...

ls1 Z28 6 speed - full bolt ons, untuned

We got a couple of runs in: both from a ~60 roll

BOTH cars are strong as ****!

WS6 started in 2nd, Z28 started in 3rd

Why is he the Z28 is 3rd if he has stock gears? Their powerbands are not different enough to need different gears.

And since each person seems to have a different definition of "full bolt-on," just list the Z's mods please.

Manny, take your car and driver skills to the track and see how ya do.

honestly that race wasn't even.. you both should have been in 2nd at 60.. not him in 3rd.. do it again with him in 2nd... good race none the less though.. not trying to say your car isn't what it should be Manny but there's no reason he should be in 3rd if he's not geared differently.. must not have the driver mod yet

good driving manny, that guy just didnt seem to know how to launch his car. You jumped out on him both times and he couldnt regain from it. That WS6 does really well without headers/exhaust!

I have no idea why he was in 3rd. I asked him why he kept staying back and he said idk. We asked what gear he was in and he said 3rd and then we knew why I launched on em. But even though I think he should of cought up. We are planning a rematch from a 30-35 roll to top of 4th which is like 130-135 if I'm not mistaken.

Hey manny, I'm heading down to Victorville on the 11th. If I bring the car, you got any guys you can line up for me? Long azz drive but I'm seriously contemplating it. My gas will be paid for by the company credit card so thats no problem! 17mpg on the freeway is a killer.

A good jump in momentum for cars of around the same power is gonna be hard to regain for the other car. Him not knowing what gear he should be in is his own fault but not an accurate way to compare the cars. If you were both in second he would have nosed you out by maybe a fender, not lost by a car IMO.

Good runs.

How? The z driver is an idiot for starting in 3rd and manny has a brain and knows his car. He basically is my setup, but with an LS6 intake. If I ran against manny, I think Id edge out a car on him since i can drive as good as ive seen him drive. Him vs this z would probably be a very close race if the guy put it in 2nd (I assume he sucks at shifting like he does at picking gears).

WSsick, I can launch but for some reason when I burn out my clutch won't hold. The clutch just slips like a motha and the clutch pedal feels hard and it's all the way close to the ground. ????? Weird hu. I pump it like 5 times and goes back to normal. :/ idk

What do you mean it wont hold during a burnout? Besides, if you are on street tires either avoid the water or do a quick clean off. No need to put on a smoke show.

I have the same issue. I've heard our master cylinders were built shitty, and I believe it. I plan on getting the Tick Adj. master cyl sometime . But change out your fluids as a temp fix before you go. On my 4000rpm slip/dump, the clutch felt like **** afterwards and didnt wanna come back up, so I just parked it since I got my 12. Its fine now, just hates the abuse I give it. Im gonna need a clutch within the next 6 months though for sure. Just play with your launches to find what works best. I cut a good 60' and it was only my 2nd night running ever, so its not hard, just takes practice. But be warned, at the end of the run, your clutch is going to feel like its stuck to the ground (its not), just rip the damn gears like normal and worry about it after you cross the line.

That's excatly how it feels. Like it's on the ground. I'll do a good little burn out and when I do my clutch feels like ****. I'm on street tires so I need to warm them up. Till I fix that problem I'm not going back to the track. So master cylinder hu. I'll try another one, but first I'll change the fluid for sure. Thanks for the tips, I'll give em a try

Huh, I've never had that problem before.

Oh, wait, that's right.
