Can you tell me what would the corect ignition timing be on a 1955 Bel Air Chevrolet with a 327 cubic inch engine and a 4bbl carborator?
That's a bullshit question.
Does that mean that you can't answer it?
It's a bullshit question. It's impossible to answer.
Impossible because you don't know the answer!
Nobody could answer that question!
Your honor, I move to disqualify Miss Vito as an expert witness.
Can you answer the question?
No, it is a trick question!
Why is it a trick question?
Because Chevy didn't make a 327 in '55, the 327 didn't come out till '62 and it wasn't offered in the Bel air with a 4bbl carb till '64. However, in 1964 the correct ignition timing would be 4 degrees before top dead center.
well, uh.....she's acceptible your honor.

On facebook, I'm acting like I bought it. Made it my profile pciture and people don't like it . I can do a couple quick reviews.

Mach 1
auto, yellow, bone stock. ~50k miles.

Ride was somewhat bouncy on rougher roads, transmission didn't like shifting at high rpms. With TC on, it would spin the 1-2 shift. With TC off, the back stepped out very hard. Stock exhaust was super quiet, interior looks nicer than my Camaro's but I absolutely hate everything about it. Seats were decent though. Power felt lazy comin in. Didn't feel out of breathe like a stock LT1 at high rpms, but pulls nothing like an LS1 up top. Does huge smokey burnouts though Forgot to add, I think I'd get one as a DD if it was a manual, but I'd have to have exhaust.

2008 Bullitt
5 speed, hurst short throw, Corsa axle back, BBK tb, CAI. 20" Cragers (255's) 8000 miles

Car looks great, rides pretty nice. Loved the interior, seats very very ncie too. Shifter felt wayyy too mechanical and clunky. CLutch engagement way too high for my liking. Power felt like it came in a little better in than the Mach, but didn't feel like it hit very hard. Very smooth, even from a 4500 roll in 2nd gear, which I don't like. I want a hard hit. Too much sound deadening Corsa sounded sick otuside, but was wayyy too quiet inside. I revved at every one I saw I'd consider one for a DD though, with an X pipe though.

I realize the auto Mach's are a good deal slower than the manual's (or that's what I've heard), and that the 20's could keep the gearing down in the Bullitt. I just took the cars for what they were.

Nice reviews!! But everyone knows if you want a mustang you get a stick!! Well unless of course you are boosting.

incidently, Ralph Macchio was 31 when this movie was made, he was hardly a "ute"

Sean, I am surprised you hate the interior of the Mach. The first time I sat in my dad's Camaro, besides the seat position which I like, the interior made me want to vomit. I guess differences, though, are what makes the world go round I would agree that stock for stock, LS1's definitely "feel" a lot faster than the Machs, even though they are closer than they feel. The autos on those have cast cranks while the manuals have forged, because of this the redline on autos is 5800 and the manual 6800, Ford did this (redline) as insurance for the weaker crank and the internals of the auto tranny weren't designed to spin nearly as freely as the guts of the T-3650. From the factory, both come with 3.55s. Other than the crank, they are identical engines with the same compression.

I know...with the same driver they say the quarter mile difference is like a half a second. Compare that to a 98 Z28 where the difference is 1 to 2 tenths (average driver).
