Well, I could have spent the money on something that would spank your car all day long. But I like the looks of the new Camaro, so I got that instead.

My 'vert LT1 trapped 117 with just intake/exhaust, mail order tune, and a 100 shot, with a 2.0 or 2.1 60', I forget. Wouldn't even be a race against a mild bolt-on LS1 street car

NA out of a 383 ci motor. Hardly an apples to apples comparison when talking about stock ci LT1's & LS1's. Nice times though. With a better 60' you should be bottom 11's.

Mine would be a better comparison then...

NA 350 LT1, 140k on the ODO. Baby 227int cam/stock saladshooters all around.

LOL @ this thread. Doesn't take much to get people worked up over nothing.

OP, needs to relax for sure. Just because a race should have gone another way on paper and people state that, doesn't mean you need to start thumping your chest and defending your "honor"

It seems like alot of the people on the other side are way over thinking this. It was a couple cars, probably within 40 rwhp of each other, probably both on street tires, with a bunch of unknown variables. If the outcome suprises people then they are only kidding themselves.

Obviously a truely full bolt-on/100 shot LT1 will beat a full bolt-on LS1 if both have traction.

Oh yeah, good kill btw.

Way too little info. full mod list, rear tires, raceweight, 60', approx da during the run & trap speed are a few questions I would have just off the top of my head.

I had a friend with an LT1 Trans Am M6 with intake, catback, 4.10s, and a 100 shot. On a hot and crappy day at Palmdale (3,000 feet elevation) here in SoCal, he ran 12.5 at 114. That car had no issues with my Camaro when I was lid/cutout making 317 rwhp. As was mentioned, a full bolt-on LS1 will get spanked by a bolt-on 100 shot LT1.

Was almost 3 years ago, full mod list has been posted multiple times but I'm too lazy to search for it or retype it all. Nothing special, basically what I typed - some crappy hogged out ported stockers, a baby cam, mild weight reduction, drag radials on the stock rims, and a 3200 stall.

Supporting mods are assumed...LT headers, 1.6rrs, injectors, dyno tune, CAI, true duals, yada yada yada. Basically a H/C stock cube LT1. Track is 104' but unless you race in the winter the DA is usually between 800-1500' due to humidity with evening temps between 70-80*. Last time out(10/13 - took the bike, not car) the DA was 13xx still at 7pm .

Car was a daily driver and like most LT1s these days it was a turd when I got it (with its only mods being a ghetto Ebay short-ram "cai" and a flowbastard muffler when I got it, it ran 13.9 @ 98 in negative DA ).

New build will be quite a bit more aggressive.

Very nice. Not bad numbers at all for a mild H/C LT1. The new build looks like it's gonna be bad ***. good luck with it.

Just proof that LT1's can have mechanical problems, mismatched combinations, bad drivers, etc, just like all cars.
