There's a couple cities around here that use the BMW 1200cc cop bikes... pretty nice, and also pretty $$$

Good luck trying to run from one of those in most cars LOL!
Any idea what they run 1/4??
LOL, im thinking with 150hp that thing will most likely outrun most 600 SS bikes

Here is a Quote from a Ga STATE TROOPER "One of Sheriff Stewart's deputies was en rout to a murder call, when a Georgia State Trooper. clocked the Trans - AM patrol car doing 160mph on I-75. ... J.D. took office Janurary 1st, 1977."

They took they to Downey Automotive in Ft O, Ga and had them bored stroked and fully built. Choo choo customs did interiors for the cars, and I personnelly rode in JD's It would spin in ALL 4 Gears with no problem if you hammered down hard enough, and believe me ....he did, Heck the mans Grave stone has a carving of his T/A on it!!!

Yeah, there were fast police cruisers... but they weren't Crown Victorias or Caprices. I don't even think that the Texas Highway Patrol uses Z28s anymore.

To everyone that thinks im proud of that win, im not. I just thought it was funny, and i never saw exactly how fast a cop edition crown vic was compared to my T/A. From what i understand they get a full roller motor from the factory, (roller cam, lifters, etc). I thought they were a little speedier is all.

I've heard that top speed for the LT1 cars without light bars is 151mph, and with the light bar is 135mph. So yeah, 150mph would take quite a bit

If they are on that thing u could easily get away, just give that bike a little love tap and watch it go off road and out of sight..... not that i promote the running or causing accidents of cops

Default Too Much Blues Brothers

I have the feeling that lots of those guys who think cop cars are superfast were listening too closely to Elwood in the Blues Brothers brag about his "cop brakes, cop engine, cop suspension," etc. plus they hear about the rare cruisers which are upgraded, and so they think that sort of thing is standard.

Or they're the same people that think a 100shot of "naws" can "blow the welds on the intake manifold" of a 10s car

Ok i dont know much about mustangs and stuff but my friend has a 01 GT, and he blew the original motor, i guess he didnt want to rebuild it so he got this one from a crown vic interceptor, said it was the same motor if not better than the original. We raced once and i didnt walk away but i was "crawling away" per say. Hes not the brightest when it comes to cars, me in that situation, i wouldve rebuilt the engine.

Depending on the year Crown Vic he got the motor from, yeah they're the same. The differences in hp came from the intake/exhaust/tune differences, not anything having to do with the actual motor.

in the early 90's i was cuffed 'n' stuffed in the back of a dodge diplomat. the cop said it had a lt1 vette motor in it
he got on it a couple of times but being that i was "impaired" it felt pretty fast but idk...
at the time i didnt know anybetter but now that i think about it why would they put a vette motor in a dodge

I've heard some say they put down 450hp and at least 3 claims of 650hp. I don't know. Crown Vic i consider running. Charger or Camaro and i'm on the side of the road before he even gets his finger off the light switch.

In DFW there are some cops that drive the brand new Camaro SS.

Cops are getting damn sneaky these days. Around my area there's a black 05' STi with all the goodies and whatnot, anyways its said to put down 600sum whp, i dont know the exact numbers. But it turns out its a cop (its all black) and he tries toying with you on the highway and if you race back he pulls you over. Theres also been rumors of an 04' Cobra in an area about a half hour away from me doing the same thing. Ya gotta watch these days, damn cops
