Default H/C/I LT1 vs. cammed LS2 3rd gen **vid**

Another vid from our f-body cruise yesterday, 2 of my friends going at it.

3rd gen- cammed LS2, T56, vert + passenger
1mean96ss- H/C/I, weight reduction, suspension, 3.90s

I wasn't in the car so I don't know what kind of speeds they went to or started from.

So if you guys saw my other thread "LS1 Z28 VS LT1 SS" it was close to this race, LT1 in front again, but a little more in front. I think the 91 was maybe in a bad spot (can happen in 6 speeds too ) because there's no way I'd be on the 3rd gen's ***. He made 425rwhp I believe.

And the curb weight is lower too. I'm thinking it's probably the passenger slowing him down I expected him to just fly away.

Nice to see a 3rd gen representing! Can't wait till mines done. We need some more sweet 3rd gen vids rather than mullet clad hill billies doing single tire fires or donuts in them!

I'll get some pics of the 3rd gen tomorrow. It's super clean. Top was down too so that could play a roll. I'm sure there will be a rematch, if the turd gen doesn't get put away for winter.

My brothers head/cam/SLP Mini Ram/ bolton IROC versus a Pedders Track II bolton '04 GTO. Sucky cell phone video which is why I never posted it! His IROC had the MAF go out during the run though. Again.

Misc Videos of it: USE HD! BTW these vids were before heads/cam/stall on my GTO.

yea thats Nick's car the third gen, I've been to his house a few times its a pretty clean car, always wanted to do a ls swap in my 88 *rip*

Too bad I missed the cruise, didn't wanna risk it with a bad alt, its going out so im replacing it probably tomorrow with a 145 amp truck alt.

Third gen is way faster. Top down drag is ridiculous.

It does sounds like he started at a low rpm, that was a long gear.

Yup. Did you see the pictures of when his spoiler almost flew off on the bridge?

It was a really fun day. I love that the burgers supplied are always from Chuckaburger. Great food, great cars, great weather made for one hell of a day.

Third gen was low in rpms. May have done it on purpose to make it a good race.

HOPE YOU GUYS DON'T MIND ME THROWING MY BROTHERS CARS INTO THIS THREAD! But no ones complained, and I've pretty damned proud of them cars since I've got at least 500 hours of work and at least 62.5 cases of beer invested into them. Not to mention the numerous Christmas presents I've bought him/them (B&M shifter, 32lb injectors, center console, etc)

Umm, that's actually IROCDave's wife scolding him.
The IROC in the burnout vid and the Z28 in this race are two different cars: though my brother does have a damn near identical '91 Convertible IROC with the same ZR1 rims:

Here is a comparison of the Z28 from the race with the LS2, and my brothers convertible IROC:

LS2 Z28:

My brothers convertible IROC: (which is a cleaner car IMO. LS3 powered next year)

Has the leather interior out of a 2000 Z28 (direct fit)

Then both of my brothers IROC's together:

Though his T tops car has "a bit" more under the hood:
