Default 08 C6 vs FRC C5

My car is the 2008 C6, intake/full exhaust/dyno tune through my automatic. I was on the road in the DFW area on the way to help a friend move this morning and I pull on the highway only to find a very clean FRC I believe cruising on the highway...

He immediately wanted to run so I obliged, we slowed to 60 and he got a slight hit on the first run, but I managed to pull 1.5-2 cars up to maybe 130mph, not 100% sure on the speed, but I know I had enough room to move into his lane as there was a car in the center lane up ahead.

Second run is cleaner with us hitting about the same time, and about the same results, me pulling maybe 1.5 cars or so, the guy could definitely shift and shifted well, I just clicked my paddles, lol.

Overall, he did have a passenger, maybe his girlfriend or something it seemed, so I'm guessing we were pretty close in weight as I know the FRC C5's don't weigh a ton to begin with. His car was damn fast and obviously had to have some serious mods to keep up with mine as I make very good power through my automatic, he was a cool guy, said "fast car" or something then we parted ways.

Did you see if it was a C5 Z06? Just thought I'd ask since you said its an FRC (always that chance).

Good kill regardless. I'd love to come across 2 vettes going at it. Lucky witnesses.

Don't think it was a Z06, most likely just a cam'd C5 from the look of it, but I guess he could have taken the badges off... but who does that?

I don't think it would have been a cammed c5z because you prob would have lost if it were, but good kill.

No ****. I was agreeing. Did you bother reading the second part where he said it could have been de-badged?

Nice race. Glad to see you Corvette guys are willing to throw down with each other. Around here, the C6 guy would have just ignored the C5 unless it was a C5 Z06.

On the C5 Z06: I think a cam'd bolton C5 Z would be a good run for a bolton LS3 C6. Around the same rwhp.

Agreed, but my money is on a cam only C5. I guess it could be a weak H/C setup as well.

OP, when you say "full exhaust" you do mean headers, etc. right? I ask because some people say full exhaust but still have stock manifolds and an X/Y pipe & catback.

Awesome races! That would have been a fun race to watch for sure. What color are the two cars?

Yellow and Blue, mine was the yellow car. I make 427rwhp/415rwhp SAE. I've beaten several pullied Cobra's I wasn't supposed to beat, but 427rwhp through my automatic shouldn't be underestimated, not to mention with my 2.56 gears, my car from a roll is very strong and I'll never miss a shift, short shift, etc.

I do have full exhaust, LG Pro (catless) headers back to slp loudmouths

While they probably aren't great, being a 6 speed auto helps out a good bit, opposed to a 4 speed.

Those numbers are awesome, especially through the auto! I wonder how much I could pick up a used LS3 long block for...

I've looked into it many times, makes for a perfect "sleeper". ~$4,000 is usually the average. That's just a bit out of what I'd like to pay. $3,000 would be ideal, but I'm a broke college student so either one is too muhc for my shallow pockets
