I know, right? Its depressing! The 03 has been a very reliable car though, I will give it that. Now I just hope the auto tranny holds together long (at 95k now) (Dodge tranny FTL)

Next DD I think will be a BMW 335i, Infiniti G35, Audi A4, or a Trailblazer SS. Need a classy business car

Man, and here I am daily driving a 1990 honda civic that the body will probably be rusted off before the motor goes. I had my fair share of "nice" cars. Now a house is kind of setting into my mind and one thing the civic does do very well is save me money....both on gas AND insurance lol!

Lol yeah man those Civics last forever. I just hope my Eclipse sticks around for awhile so I can defer the "new car cost" for awhile. If it gets me through these next 2-1/2 years left of college I'll be happy. Then I'll sell my Lt1 TA and buy my dream C6 and a new DD. I just want a new DD that isn't so slow haha these 3G Eclipse's are anemic!

Thanks for posting that up, very informative actually. I never looked into this much further than the initial appeal of doing a top swap. I knew the 3800 engines were good but didn't know how stout really.

Or you could skip the blower and piece together a turbo kit. When I was playing with the idea of going turbo in the Regal I could have had a custom kit with turbo headers, a 62-1 and all the supporting mods to make 650whp (more like 500 because 650 would shred the trans in about a 1/2 pull) for about $3500 bucks.

You could go cheap and stick with stock manifolds and a smaller turbo and piece together a kit for like 2 grand.
Wow, I have to say I'm impressed with the figures you're throwing around! I may be looking into some of this next year.

So I’m driving down the access road and I see this mid 90’s ford escort with tinted window, a trash can muffler, and three passengers. This day I was riding solo and happened to be in my 1997 Chevy Lumina aka The LUMINATOR. Were both at a stop light with nothing but space and opportunity ahead of us. The Luminator has 145,000 original miles and the mod list…well let’s just say it has NGK spark plugs.

So the light turns green and we both take off a little faster than normal. I hear him floor it so I do the same. As I get thrown back into my seat because of the vicious down shift. I grab the steering wheel and hold on for dear life. As the car shifts to second I could see the white stripped line that divides our lanes turn solid. (40mph) I have about about a car length on him. We both shut down about 65mph with me about a car and half.

After the race we both give each each other the thumbs up. I wiped the sweat off my brow and said to myself, “I’m glad I Seafoamed the car last week or this would have been a completely different race.”

I did all the maintenece on a freinds lumina (93 I want to say). That thing was a beast through the first 2 gears haha. Those old V6 4 doors make awesome winter beaters, with some get-up and go too.

The 3.4 Euro-Sports and Z34's weren't half bad, especially with the 5spd!

Thats funny....back when I was 19 or so I wanted one of those boxy style Z34's with a 5 speed and those fancy hood louvers, haha. You never see them anywhere though. For a while I actually though it was a better version of the cavalier Z24 until I finally realized it was a lumina.

I had one as my very first car... 5spd. With just an intake and a "chip" it ran a 14.6 @ 94!

My friend has an auto Z34 that ran a 13.9. 245 DRs and a bottle among a few other small things.

I beat my brother's friend's automatic 04? Impreza WRX in my 98 Grand Cherokee 5.9lt.
Those things (stock auto) are ***** slow from a dig. They just fall right on their faces out of the hole.

Yes they do. But they are nice DD's. Even my sisters automatic non-turbo 2.5RS outback is fun to drive.

Integra had it's first kill tonight. Was a 00ish VW Jetta with some aftermarket wheels, girl driving. She and some 4 door raced from one redlight so I slowly gave chase. Well next redlight caught us and I got next to her. I see her creeping at the light and as I see the yellow lights come on I rev it up alittle and load the clutch alittle. Green light I rev it up as I slip the clutch. Half a carlength off the line, by 6,500rpms I'm at a full length and half. Shift into 2nd and I'm 2 or more. Short shift into 3rd and its over. The Integra is sick nasty!

Funny thing is it has been so long since I've had a race this one got my adrenaline pumping. How sad.
