Default 408 stroker gto vs full bolt on e55

2 runs between my n/a 408 gto on e85 and a full bolt on 06 amg e55

The gto is running on extremly bald 245s and temps are mid 40's. The first race I spun obnoxiously into 4th. The second run the camera man switched cars and I got into 4th a little better. The amg makes over 600ft-lbs of torque and has ran 11.4x's on stock suspension and street tires. No times for gto

Both races are from 60-130ish..top of the gtos 4th gear.

The gto made 500/473. Weighs 3740 with no driver. It stopped making power around 5,300 do to my exhaust and cold air setup. Going to be a whole different car when I uncork it in spring

I love E55s. They have NO resale value, you can find them incredibly cheap for what they are, but the cost of repairs and mods scares me away.

Nice goat, and great kill.

E55s are fast but they are huge heavy boats.

What are the AMG E55's rated for power in stock form? How much do they go for?

New they went for 85K.

You can find them with 40K miles for low-mid 20s.

It's incredible how much the mega-motor MB cars depreciate. You can buy the TT V12 SL600 for about 35K for a clean low mileage car (theyre about 120K new), put a few K into it and walk ZR1s in 4000+lb luxury convertible. They'll do 570hp/700tq at the wheels with just a tune. Add a few bolt on's and a little weight reduction and it'll trap 130+ no problem.

I actually kind of like the SSRs.

Good runs. I have kind of been having a GTO itch lately.

Thanks guys. I raced the same amg last year when he just had a dyno tune and I was a cam only ls1 making 419/389 and he pulled atleast 4 cars on me, if that gives you an idea of how well these cars run. There defineatly a 12 second car bone stock which is impressive for there weight.

belieave it or not quite a few of them ran 11's bone stock...They were a HUGE competitor for the C5Z06 and rom 60-150 mph were actually a lil faster than a C5Z06
