2010 SHO vs 2000 Trans Am
Good Evening all,
After wasting my time for the vast majority of the Saturday before MLK day, I had decided to meet up with a close friend in Wilmington, NC. After much negative input he had received prior to buying it, he was adamant in making it a respectable vehicle to drag race. His current mods are k&n intake and tune.
My mods are pretty much every bolt on for an LS1 besides EWP and Fast intake. We decided to go from a 30 roll, being a slight weak spot for my car, he honks it off and takes a 1/2 car lead temporarily. I proceed to pass him at 60, and put 3 cars on him to 110 mph. I know it would have been closer from a dig with his AWD, but hell next mod he gets I guess I'll bring a camera lol. He will need only a few mods to hit mid 12's so it really is a badass grocery getter with traction for those few snowy conditions we see down here. A hell of a lotta fun!:headban g:

I was impressed just with the ride quality and comfort level that car possessed, He would stomp the go pedal and it was like riding on a small cloud accelerating. Just way too much $$$ in my book.

Great race, thanks for sharing!
I'm not a big fan of the looks, as they are kind of bland, but I thought the same thing about the 2004 GTO's and those have grown on me alot so I'll give it some time and judge then. The performance is definitely great for the car and I bet they gain nicely with basic mods.

Good race. I'm not too impressed with them though. I have a friend that has one and he couldn't beat my other friends Lincoln LS. It's tuned and put down 305 to the wheels. It's a nice car though.

Otherwise, I don't see that happening.

The fact that it's heavy just makes it's performance more impressive. It's weight is not a huge downfall since it's a full size 4-door car, not a 2 door muscle car. The same rules don't apply to it that make people so quick to point out the massive weight of the new Camaro, Challenger, and GT500

Challenger people have room to complain though, its supposed to be a pony car!!! If dodge is gonna make a large Challenger they might as well have made a retro 2 door charger instead, at least people wouldnt complain about it being bigger!!!

No, it's tuned by Brenspeed, but other than that it's stock, and the SHO is tuned by Brenspeed also.. I may be wrong on the LS's numbers, idk what they put out stock or what the numbers were after the tune, I'm just going by what I think I remember him saying, but I saw the dyno sheet for the SHO.
All I know is that the SHO lost by a car from a roll (not sure what speed)

They are only rated 280 stock. From my experience they aren't going to gain much with just a tune. Stock they are like a high 14/low 15 second car I believe.

Wait, which car you talking about? The SHO's are rated at 365hp, they run low 14's and they gain a LOT from a tune. Tune-only and its 40hp+.

I was referring to the LS because he said that he didn't know what they made for horsepower stock and didn't know what his friend's made with a tune.

One went 12.98 @ 105 mph with a catback and mild tune and another went 12.82 @ 106 mph with an aggressive tune (and they say it did 12.78 @ 110 mph on a diferent day).
Looks like they make about 275/300 in stock form and 325/350ish with a tune. Also looks like they gain huge after 5000 rpm when tuned right.
