Default first kills with new cam

So tonight on the way back from my friends shop I got in a few races. First car was my buddies 99 ta with full bolt on from 50mph in 3rd. Decided to be nice and not use 2nd and gave him the jump. By the time my motor was spinning 4500 I put a hurting on him. Next race was in 2nd from a 45 roll. Started out with a little tire spin then instantly put a ton of car lengths on him. And the last race if you can even call it one was a stock ls1 z28 gave him the jump and took him down. Was pretty unfair for the other cars. All in all was pretty fun and man the cam was deffinitly worth the trouble. Car pulls real strong above 4500rpm. Can't wait to run a pullied termi

Can't wait to run a pullied termi
The previous owner of my camaro took a pullied terminator that dyno'd 479 rwhp. my camaro dyno'd 395 rwhp with a cam, flp LT's, comp 918 springs. It was a heck of a run but its possible. I can't wait to take on one. I love those cars but I wouldn't mind pulling one. good luck when that day comes

The driver was not on par.. it doesnt take a cobra 85 more rwhp to walk an fbody.

Updated 241s?

A good driver should pulley you in a properly set up cobra.. a poor pulley selection or bad driver should result in a win.

Good kills! It's always fun to rematch cars after you install new mods

I was thinking the same thing. Maybe referring to a pulley/CAI only Cobra making 420 rwhp?

My buddy with a 315 rwhp Z28 beat my other buddy's 470 rwhp pullied/bolt-on Cobra. Obviously a case of the worst driver of all time syndrome, but I suppose you could use it as an example that a win is possible.

In most cases however, your average cam/bolt-on fbody is getting beat by your average pullied/bolt-on Cobra with both drivers being on par. Never turn down a race though because you never know

Do you mean "its going to come down to finding a bad driver"? Cause if so then I agree totally.

nice runs, but how did you fair with the bolt on car when you rwere just bolt ons? and yeah I will echo everyone else statements on the pullied cobra comment, you might find one that can't drive and have a good race. but any pullied cobra that driven decently will not have a problem you a cam only ls1.... but lets not turn this thread to crap too.

Well if my buddy that has the ta didn't get rid of his snake it would be easy to find out. I do know last season at the track I did beat him by about 5-6 lengths on the bottle(100shot).his car was pullied tuned cai exhaust. But his car was also a vert and heavy. I wish the cobra owners around here would race but I have only ran 2 on the street in 5 years the are few and far between
