if i were rich i'd own porsches and ferraris, maybe a Gallardo, bentley Coupe. I don't know why some "less fortunate" people have to hate on the rich. If you don't like them fine, but don't pretend they aren't far superior to a corvette on all levels, you get what you pay for holds true in most automobiles, no?
Not to sound like to much of a jerk but..... at the end of the day, he's arriving in a new 911 and you're in a 14yo C5 "it's so fast" so is a hyundai excel with an Evo motor, big deal.

Actually he's in an 8 year old viper. His C5 was also a 2004. So it was actually a newer vette.

people like what they like...as a previous vette owner I find the GTO somewhat insulting to the LSx platform......The LS2 vette just makes no sense to me...why bring out the new 400 HP vette to have these guys trade in their 350 and 405 HP vettes only for two years later to introduce the LS3 vettes for the same price at 436 HP...Thats BS!!!!!
The C5 was the same engine from 97-04...Why must GM one up their vette ever few years...You have the old vette before you blink an eye..I really dont like that at all..
Supra is just not my style. But is capable of amazeing results...
To each their own...Whats better or worse is all up to you..At this point if you aint rollin a F458 or gallardo superlegra 570 then their all just cars to me..rather a 35K GTO..40K supra..50K vette or 85K dodge/nissan OR CHEVY...

it's not about "impressing" people. if i had the extra money i would like to experience the "finer" things in life. That's just me though.

I have a hard time seeing a dodge as one of the "finer things in life". Or even a corvette for that matter. Just fast cars that look good.
Id say a Porsche is definitively more refined all round, even if its not as raw.
