5.0 definetley runs hard but just wondering was the camaro tuned for the ls6 heads/cam? someone else brought up a good point if that had a full ls6 conversion it should have ran with the 5.0 better than that seeing as it would be around the same hp with less weight. just stirring the pot good kill though

They are surprisingly smooth and not much traffic.

The camaro was tuned for it. But, in my opinion the tune is probably off. He told me that it was only on the dyno for one or two pulls and the guy called it good after not messing with it long.

He will probably chime in and can elaborate more on it.

I have driven his SS before it is a strong car for sure.

Im suprised a bit as well on the outcome but the new 5.0's are fast especially with the basic aftermarket mods. I think the Camaro would definitly benefit from 4.10's if he doesnt have them yet, take advantage of that new found top end and taking it to a reputable tuner that is willing to take his time and tune it properly. Either way good run and both seem like strong cars.

ya def not knocking your car or the 5.0 theyre awesome I'd just think a full bolt on ls6 through an m6 is around 390whp abt the same as a z06 would be, which should make it a dead nuts race just bench racing here lol but you see where im going hahha

Well, I have not had my car n the dyno. But a local guy with the same mods down to the tune, and CAI put down 411RWHP on a mustang dyno @ brenspeed.

Not possible, it's a Mustang, they can't put out more than 350RWHP

In all honesty though, I've come to notice that Mustangs love gears that are 3.73's or higher.

Saw the car w/ the bigs and smalls sitting in the driveway when I came home today, James. Looks MUCH better!

I had a fucked up tune on it and took my car to a local dyno day and the guy tuned it real quick and it put down 360RWHP I think my car would benefit from a more thorough dyno tune but I got plans for a cam swap this year so im not really too worried about getting it tuned again before that.

ya that sounds like you def need a better tune ls6s with manuals will put down about 400 to the wheels tuned with bolt ons but like you said its not worth it now since your getting a cam either way good run with the 5.0.

4.10s would make a BIG difference. Looked as if it struggled to get in the meat of the LS6's band. In a 3100lb C5Z06 you wont have that issue with stock gears.

This is phrased funky, at least to me. Just want to make sure I'm reading it correctly. What cam is in the car?

Ls6 cam the guy who had the car before me had a perforamnce shop in California put in the Ls6 cam je pistons, rods, heads and a timing chain so when I bought the car he had a shoe box filled with receipts and the build sheet.
