To be 100% honest I dont think they are ugly.
Actualy in the videos they look pretty good.

Problem is in real life when you see a GTR parked next to a Viper/Z06-ZR1/Gallardo...You know its competitors. Well they all look small exotic/low/wide ect. ect. ect.

The GTR parked next to them looks HUGE and much like a regular car.
Size really matters when your talking about 90K plus sports/exotic cars.

I never thought the Audi R8 was that great looking of a ride. Then I saw one in real life while driveing my nsx and the thing was really small low and wide. Beautiful road presence.

I really think if you could magically shrink the GTR by 10% the car would be much more visually exotic looking and also be 380 pounds lighter. This would truly be a 3500 pound supercar.

Even a non rear back seat version with more agressive styling and loseing 500 pounds would be killer. Instead of the mass produced 12K a year GTR they could go limited production at sub 2 k units per year and charge 115K for this 3400 pound 530 HP awd supercar. This would be a killer carand it would sell like Hotcakes. But as it sits right now at mass produced 12K a year with so so too big styling...Id never be interested.

It wouldnt surprise me if Nissan has somthing like this up their sleeve for 2014. They know they have a winner performance wise that dosent appeal to guys who really like traditional sports cars. It only makes sense that they do this.

Good race between the two however, just thinking about it, that N/A Z06 just ran right next to a boosted sports car. That is even more impressive in my book! I still find it amazing how GM makes such incredible power with push rod motors. Everytime I see a race on here or youtube with an LSx motor with Heads, Cam and intake I just have to shake my head in awe. Props to GM engineers! Great job!

With this in mind, I thought how crazy that motor would be if they boosted it......Holy crap!!

LMFAO @ vader(been wanting to do that with my stormtrooper helmet)...

Good race,..vette dude needs to step it up a notch or 5 and shift a little more like a champ....I believe the race woulda been a dead heat if so.

As LT said...

Its an N/A 7.0L against a boosted 3.8L V6, not an unfair fight at stock boost levels IMO.

A tune and exhaust and a GTR will run low 10s. I love Zo^ vetts but the GTR is on a different level once the modding begins. Not to mention the Alpha 9 kit. Or the one UGR built (if remember right they built) that destroyed a ZR1 that was done also.

and this is one isnt a 2012.

Really?

You "love Z06 vettes".... ? Then why would you make such a comment? Dunno what you mean by a "different level" holmes but, you'd THINK a person that loved a car so much(the Z00)...you'd thknk you'd have a lil more knowledge. You can mod a GTR. You can MOD a vette. You can mod a go kart to be quicker then either to a point-.... so,..seriously, where do you get off saying that? Are you talking about the 1/4 mile? Ok.... modded GTR went what, 9's?... as in,..1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9?..... Cause I am pretty sure...pretty sure...7.87@180! is the vette record.

I completely disagree with you. Stock for stock they are both 125 mph cars. Stock for stock they are gonna both run mid 11's on average. great driver in either will turn low 11's. GTR will more often than the z06 simply because of AWD but WE KNOW a Z06 CAN turn a 10.99 100% stock. Can the new GTR?

So your new GTR is turning 11.5's at 124 mph like it's no big deal. A simple catback and tune does not equate to low 10's...LOL. 10.8's at 132 mph is what I can see happening and that would fall much more in line with the "old" GTR's 11.2 at 128 mph with a tune and catback.

Z06 is running 11.6 at 124 mph like its no big deal. Intake/dyno tune/headers and cat back and she's running 11.1 at 128 mph like its no big deal. Sure the 10.8 at 132 mph the tune/catback 2012 GTR will put down is a lil faster but to say they arent on the same playing field?

How about just a tune and 75 shot on that Z06. That would be like 2k and take the power to 530 rwhp. Car goes from runninh 11.6 at 124 mph to 10.8 at 131 mph.

Honestly i think they are now on exactly the same playing field were before the Old GTR was a stock 118 mph car that needed mods to match the stock Z06's 124 mph speeds.

Maybe Im just blinded by brand loyalty after owning a camaro and vette myself and not careing much for my rx7's and nsx. But the z06 is still in the game

Great point! I'm pretty sure the car in the video is an LS9 ZR1 though.

Bitter much?

I think "V-seriesTech" pretty much summed it up.

Sure there are much faster Z06s than just 9s or 10s. I think the point was, that the GT-Rs respond better to basic modifications. That's not surprising at all, and nobody should take offense when it is pointed out.

duh.

Thats the beauty of turbo chargers holmes. Taking offense?...nah man, more like defense. Making a claim like "different league" and ****,..you better be prepared for some feedback, good or bad. My point was/is, they're isn't a new GTR on the planet that will run with vettes on here in the 1/4 or the mile,....not one. I'll be here all week to keep order.

What would a GT-R have to run to "run with Vettes on here"?
