No offense here but mod for mod an ls1 fbody or ls2 gto should have no problem with a similarly modded mach 1. I've raced 3 bolt on mach 1's with 5 speeds and havent lost, 2 of them I knew personally and were competent drivers. I think that a mach1 that has more mods than my car such as maybe yours would be a damn good race or even edge a bolt on ls1 car out but it will not happen regularly when doing mod for mod on the ls1. Not flaming just my opinion.

Ya not really as stated above a stock c6 ls2 has been 12.20's at 115 a STRONG mach 1 will trap 105-106 and be low 13's. Thats about what an auto ls1 car will do and m6's are around 108 usually and they are not eve cllose to an ls2 vette. I searched google and the fastest one I found did 13.15 at 106. Thats almost a full second slower than a vette.

This^ I still havent found a stock one to run 12's but there are plenty of fbodys and ls2 gtos that have done it.

I think the fastest STOCK Mach 1 5spd has gone 13.0x... so I would say .5-.7s and 6-8mph is a good spread between a Mach 1 and LS2 Corvette. It would be a better drag race against an LS2 GTO, but from a roll would not be so great when modded evenly.

If were talking "fastest" times the LS2 record is 12.21@115. I would say more like .8 and 9mph compared to the fastest Mach I. Fwiw the bolt-on LS2 record is in the 10's/low 120's.

Hence why I said "good spread."

If your using the fastest stock Mach #'s then you have to use the fastest stock C6 #'s. And by those standards its more of a 8 tenths difference as opposed to your. 5-.7. That's all.

Before I left Jersey, I used to hang out in many race spots in the area. One of my last races I had before I left Jersey for good (thank God) was with a 2007 LS2 Vette on Rt 3 near the Meadowland (Gaint Stadium area). With my mods listed below minus the Mid-length, WeaponX COP and NGKs (also on RWTD mail morder tune), I race a Vette from dig to a marked off 1/4 mile marker (overpass). The Vette had CAI and Corsa Exhaust only with street tires. I had DRs.
Out of the hole, on the 2 step at 3200 rpms, I jumped him hard and put about 1.5 cars on him. I had him all the way until the middle of 4th gear and then he slowly crept by. I lost by less than a car. I will say he was pulling at the top end but not super hard.
I realize I lost the race (and $50) but the Vette has to much of an advantage with weight and aerodynamics. The guy with the vette was really cool and gave me props for the way my car pulled.
Regardless, I am not going to say that my MACH is faster than a Vette because the two cars are completey different vehicles. However, anything can happen on the street. The cars are close enough (with my setup -DRs, 2-step, 4.10s & bolt-ons) that there was no comming back from any kind of mistake. One small mistake could have easily affected the outcome.
This is how it went down...take it for what it is. I have nothing to prove. I lost the ego **** a long time ago. I am just telling the story of how it went down.

For the record though,,the Vette is still my dream car..I will eventually get one!

Its has. Google Angus66. He went 10.96@20 in a bolt-on mach 1 N/A. Could of been a freak pass but it consistantly goes 11.1's at 119-120. Just hasn't gone as deep in the 10's as an ls1.

standard weight reduction can get a mach 200 lbs less than a c5/c6. my sn95 weighs 2973 without me in it. corvette weight advantage applies to S197 cars (2005+) not earlier cars.

with no with reduction at all the same car weighed 3468 with full tank of gas and a 5.4 3v in it. so its lighter than my 2011 even with a 700 lb dressed motor it had in it. shipping wieght of the 5.4 3v fully dressed was over 700lbs.

On Google, I found from Angus66 a best N/A of 11.16 @120mph in his sig (But his best over pass is 10.94 @124.74.), followed by 11.17 @119mph by 03AV8R.

Here is what is to come...

GM owners: "Yea, but it was only ONE!!! Show us more or it never happened! Bolt on Mach 1 is low 14 second car on average!"

watch...

If you have driven a tuned/geared Mach 1 you know its nothing like a 96-01 Cobra power wise. They can be a little beast! I would LOVE to take one with my 95 rear end, weight reduction, 26 spline input shaft, my wheels/tires, and a badass clutch.

HAHA....***!

Here is a vid of a buddy of mine. 98 chassis with a bolt-on mach 1 motor with full bolt-ons. Made 343rwhp. These runs were done on 15" DR's. Trying to get him to swap front springs as his nose is too stiff. I think it'd go .40's on slicks and suspension tweaks. Rebuilt stock T45.

FF to the end to see his best pass.
