Mustang dyno's read pretty low. A stock 5.0 on a mustang dyno might be 345-355. On a dynojet 365-375. and TQ be a lot less. Do you know what your car weighs?

As far as driving couldnt tell if you friend was shift aggressive or not or going all way to redline. Either way you should beat him.

Full bolt ons/tire i am betting he takes you in same manner with your current set up.

Last tim eout with gears, cold air, tune x pipe ran 11.88@106..lost synchro in tranny so couldnt get in 5th last 150ft of track and it dropped mph bad. run before that was 11.91@114 with not going 5th.
Good deal, the 11.8 seems to be about right for those mods. The Steeda car that was on the cover of 5.0 a few months back is a friend of mine from Valdosta. I think he has ran a .70 or so with the Steeda track pack. Now he has the Boss intake and such with N20. Pretty impressive car for the mods no doubt.

Good luck with the bottom 11s, with a little weight reduction with Bigs and Skinnies I think it can go some .30s.

He said he was pulling to 6600, which he said the factory tune cuts out there. The guy used to have a fast *** turbo talon, that whooped some stuff. He's a good driver..

My car is heavy, full weight, only weight reduction is removed spare tire.... big sub and amp in the back, heavy wheels with 315s, and the ENTIRE body and any panels are Dynomatted from a previous owner.. Not sure of exact weight though.

my mph was cause of faulty tranny...Bone stock trapped 114. Before tranny went out that night 117 was trap. Just couldnt get to hook cause no track prep. Was only cutting 1.7-1.8 60fts. Once they did some prep was cutting 1.60-1.68 60fts. Most cars with same mods as one in teh 11.8 run trap 116-118. Full bolt on cars trap 119-122.

And his car should red lien at 7k. That is where it is set form dealer stock form. As far as driving a talon and mustang are different.

Also the 11.8 wasnt bolt ons. very minimal mods.

Night ran 11.8 it had more in it. Soon got launch down and track prep is when the tranny messed up. Killing my last 150ft or so of track.

I don't know, maybe the K&N drop in and "exhaust mod" made the 5.0 car slower without a tune as suggested by a 5.0 owner in the past....

With the current bus length that OP put on the 5.0, I don't see that happening unless full bolt-ons gives the 5.0 100+rwhp. Would be interesting to see though.

I bet you break your transmission way before that. I wonder if Ford is going to have a factory recall on the new 5.0 transmission since I have seen more than 3 break and have to go back to the dealer ship, and I have seen more than 5 not be able to shift into gear at wot lol skip shift my ***.

CAI and a K&N drop in are 2 different things. A cai on a new 5.0 does require a new tune.

The thing is with a new 5.0....they have the gear and rpm to get down the track well, if they can't leave hard to utilize their gearing then their not gonna do so well. That's why we don't see them winning alot of street races.....of coarse op's car runs really well too. Any track times?

I believe its because of the change of air flow throwing off the factory MAF readings. Dont quote me on that though.

You are correct. The cold air for the 5.0s throw off the MAF and it will start then die right away. I found that out when tried to put stock tune in to take to dealer. I said **** it and put aftermarket tune back in.

I haven't seen one at the track yet but why wouldn't they run low 12's ? I have ran a best of 12.6 and that was before a cai , short throw shifter and tune. If they are making 40 or 50 more hp to the wheel's than me (maybe more) shouldn't they run low 12's.
