Default Short run with a Bentley Continental GT

My buddy and I were cruising in my G8 and ran into this car. This was a 100% random encounter so I wasn't able to talk to the guy. It was difficult to get anything resembling a clean run. They wanted to play the "tag, you're it" through traffic game, which I refuse to participate in.

After a few minutes, I was able to get them to slow down for a run. They didn't seem to get the whole 3 honks thing, so there was more cluster ******* around before we got this run from about 45 mph:

After this very short run, they slowed down and got off the next exit.

A little research after the fact says this was a Continental GT. I'm guessing it was an older one, which was rated 552 horsepower and 479 torqe, but they weigh 5350 lbs (about 1350 lbs more than my G8). There was a passenger in each car. They are AWD and supposedly run 12.9 @ 109 mph.

My interpretation of this race is that we started in a bad spot for him and if we had gotten the chance to run it up to higher speeds then he would have started pulling pretty hard.

Not much of a race, but it was cool to find a guy with a high end car that was willing to play.

When I first saw the power numbers, I couldn't figure out why it wasn't a 100% massacre, but then I saw the weight. Definitely faster than my car, but not as fast as you'd expect for a 550 hp car.

Thanks, man!

I also found out, while I was playing around, that a burnout actually gets the stock tires pretty sticky. I'm curious if I could get any kind of decent 60' out of them with a bit more power. Not looking for anything crazy, but some mid 1.9's would be nice.

That's a nice random encounter. That motivation for you to mod it now?

Oh, and just to throw it out there, Continental Supersports = . And it's not slow like that turd GT.

Nice run! That's suprising to see someone in a Bentley would even look at racing. Lol. I was surprised by the outcome though, you stayed pretty even for a bit. That thing needs a major diet though.

I was able to cut a 1.9 on stock tires when i had just cold air, headers back exhaust and tune. Heating them up and leaving aroudn 1k rpm's. With drag radials was able to cut a 1.7. I really needed a stall to get out the whole. I fixed it with some spray.. With spray and Dunlop Z101 275 tires i cut a 1.7 spray after .50 going wot. Not bad for street tires.

Looks like they are about a second faster. That's gotta be noticeable, lol.

I don't see it getting better then a 2.1 without a tune. With a tune, 1.9 should be doable at a well prepped track IMO.

My best 60' so far (stock) is 2.040. I was talking about hitting 1.9's after modding up, though.
