I passed Destrehan on my way to Luling for a job site yesterday. How much gas to you burn going to The Pad and back??

BTW I live 5-7 minutes away from The Pad depending on how many red lights I run.

Well if you live near the pad you didn't pass Destrehan to go to luling unless you were on I310.. Which is the long way there..

Yeah, I hear you. I lost the 3-4 clutches. Getting it replaced and looking for a 4l80e for next season. I need an overdrive. Can't go with a smaller gear than a 3.54 in the s60 and need something decent for the highway. It's fun running on corn sauce though. It smells like peanuts and farts though.

That's the same trouble I was having with the 4L60E.. I've thought about installing a 4L80E in the car just so I can have OD again. I probably would want to drive it more. They are also faster transmissions than the th350's are.. I could knock off 2-3 tenth's just by swapping to a 4L80E..

I hear they are a little heavier though they are built similar to a th400 with an overdrive. 1st and 2nd gear are fine then once it goes into 3rd it just slips and the rpms go flyin'. Does that sound about right?

When you stroke a motor (unless you buy a tall deck block) you bring the piston futher down into the crank case of the block. Unless they found a way to get rid of the piston cooling jets you wouldn't be able to put in a 4" stroker kit. The skirt of the piston would hit the jet and damage the piston and the jet. Someone please step in if im wrong. Could it be that maybe you misunderstood the guy? Also paying $9500 for that complete motor is really cheap.. Should have cost you at least $5000.00-$6000.00 more than what you paid without the charger. Look man I might be wrong about all this and if I am i'm sorry but from what i've read so far it doesn't seem like you can stroke the LS9 block for this reason..

I've got a lvl 6 FLT that is probably comparable. I have a trans temp gauge on the shelf and i'm wondering if I'm not keeping it cool enough. I haven't pushed the car too hard but then again the car is pushing the limits of what a built 4l60e seems to handle. You know anyone looking to offload a gently used and built 4l80e?
