I'd put a truck motor 5.0 in it and wreck havoc.
Cams, compression are the big things that stick out to me that are different. Ben on Hater's has put a truck 5.0 in his Fox Body, hasn't cranked it yet.

If you have an M5, you will already have a forged crank. Rods and pistons and you should be good to go. As for the aluminum block, it is great that it is light but it also has its limitation for high Hp applications.
