Im the only person who does physical security where I work, so I pretty much get as much overtime as I want. There's always something I can do. It's fairly nice to make the extra$. Sure beats working for the State; I didnt get a raise the whole time I was there. LOL They do like to buy furniture that's for sure... I've gotten a new chair every year
We never got OT unless on a test...then it was like 14 hour days in Yuma, which was ******* awesome. My dad is actually security for that compound as well, same boat you are, just as a Civ...and making ******* GOOD money. No Mil for security, only for IMO.

All depends on where you was there. And when you was in certain areas. I'm a mechanic and I have did over 100 combat patrols, thousands of hours of guard, kicking in doors. Got my confirmed kills, and been shot at a bunch. Blew up with ied's and car bombs. Our worse deployment was in Baqubah There a book about it. Battle For Baqubah: killing our way out. They seem to send 1-12 cab to all the hell holes. We was the ones that bailed the Marines out in falluja in OIF 2. We was 2-7 cav then. After we got back they reflagged us.

I would be the same way but having a family now changes everything. I miss so much with my little girl now with the way I work, so being away for 13 months wouldn't fel good at this point..

Oh, its my Civ job. I make out alright Im not actually security guard they just call it physical security, my job is to go around the different facilities here and check to make sure everything is within the Govt's standards for "Security" IE fence heights, ETC ETC. Like I said, boring as all **** but I hardly have to do any work lol

He isn't a guard per say, but he has complete control about who gets onto the compound (SCIF on the compound), badging for certain areas, making sure security clearances are sent to other compounds and recieved properly, assiting in background checks for clearances, ect ect.

Finished the semester today! Master's classes start in August...and football practice. I just have 2 classes this summer to take to receive my bachelor's. I'd like to have a drink to celebrate but I'm on the damn Athletic Director Interview Panel for our school and we meet at 8:45 I'm the youngest person on the committee by 20 years so I don't think it'd be a good idea to show up hung over as ****
