Cliff notes: Bored at home on day off.
Alright you ****, need some opinions on an engine build (technical advice). And no I don't want to hear put an LSx in it.
Need to get to a certain compression but the options to do so make it either too high or now enough. Should I:
Deck the block
Deck the heads
Change pistons that I already bought (1.21ch)
One piston available has a ch of 1.32 resulting in 11.95:1. Too high.
The other piston is the stock 1.21 ch resulting in 9.5:1. A little low IMO.
I tried to put in a thicker gasket on the 1.32 pistons but only lowered it to 11.77. Still too high. Thoughts?

I'd personally get the pistons 9.5:1 tbh. It aint THAT low really and it still gives you the possibility of fi later on... even if you don't want it.

Daniel- It's all good man. I couldn't tell if the joker was a serious laugh or a joking laugh (if that makes sense)

Happy memorial day ahead of time Gents. Drink a beer for our fallen Brothers and Sisters. I just got off work and I am enjoying a Jager and coke, and I probably will call in sick tomorrow depending on how much of this bottle I drink.

The motor will stay n/a for 1 season. Then the novi 2k will go on it. I figured 10:1 or 10.5:1 would be ok. I'd prefer not to go over 11:1 cause that'd mean race gas w/ the blower.

Yeah thats a very valid point. I just wanted to get the most out of it n/a since n/a motors and compression go hand and hand. But in the long run 9.5:1 and 93 pump would be better on my wallet then 100 or 110 if I went 11:1 or so. lol. I probably wouldn't even notice since right now I'm at 9.85:1.

A 9.5:1 would be ideal for the novi and as you said it will save your wallet. I wish I was in the 9 compression range right now. A 10.4 isn't the best, and we have all seen what happens to a high compression engine under boost (ls7 lol).
How much are you thinking of boosting out of the novi?

Unless you want to buy a custom set of pistons, use the 9.5:1's.
Too bad you've already bought parts...a Coyote would bolt right in and has a lot more room for growth.
