Nope. The shop has been busy on a R32 build and my car hasn't been able to go in for anything. I only trust the car with 1 mechanic and won't let anyone else south of the US touch it.

I just recently changed out mine... it should have been the first mod. Id imagine yours is just as heavy. I dropped 25lbs off my driveshaft. Literally is night and day.

For yours between doing the driveshaft, and going to a 9.5 inch converter, should total around 40lbs. That weight and a better converter, i think you will find you dont want to tear into the motor yet

And clearly anyone decent driver behind the wheel of a stock ZL1 could definitely out run your best time.
Did you ignore what i typed. I was on my factory wheel and tires... where are you getting drag radial runs from? My first pass out ever in my car was my best pass. 12.31 at 117.4 with a 1.90 60 ft. My car in mods is the equivalent to a lid/catback/tune f body. I made 3 more passes that day... only completed one of them as i had issues hitting second gear (i believe its pressure plate related, its getting a new clutch while its off the road). Now he in his zl1 AUTO.... put his foot to the floor off the foot brake... hooked... and ran 12.4 at 114 with a 1.80 60 ft. The ONLY way to make that car faster in bone stock form... is to play the stupid elevation game and go to a track in the mines. Christ this was same day, same track comparisons. Im sorry but you cant get any more cut and dry then that. He trapped 91 in the 8th, i trapped 90.

What more can i say. The ZL1 is slower... PERIOD. Did you miss when i said the same driver took his air intake, tune 08 gt500 on street tires to 11.6 at 121. Pretty sure that car requires a HELL of a lot more driver then a stock auto zl1. Come on man.

Calm down guy, its just the interwebz. Don't worry, I have no problem keeping things civil.

The fact that your pass on drag radials was slower than that on street tires is what confused me. lol But if I remember correctly you did make a pass on DR's, correct? Second, I have personally seen multiple stock ZL1's run in the 12.0-12.2 range 100% stock so while not blazingly quick, I am positive they will run faster than what your buddy did.

I agree the ZL1 is not that impressive in the straights but neither is your car with you driving it.

Again, his car was floored. At that track, in that air... it wasnt going any faster then that. He has made over 30 passes with it bone stock so far and that was his fastest. He knows what hes doing. When you are seeing cars go faster, its in the air. My buddy in his G8 just proved that. Had went 12.5 at 114 before. Goes to a better elevation track, runs 12.0 at 118. Only change made was the track.

As far as the DRs are concerned. First pass out was on my street tires. I shifted second gear.... frantic as **** wheel hop... lifted... got back in it and completed my 12.3 pass. I them swapped a set of 18 inch wheels with mickey thompsons on them thinking the extremely low profile was the culprit for the bad wheel hop. So second pass comes up. I launch the car a little strong to a 1.85 60 ft... miss second gear(clutch to the floor...did nothing but grind trying to put it in second, thats where i think the pressure plate sucks...its only occasional it does this). Next pass out... same style launch, i shift slower to second to avoid the grind... wheel hop is even worse then the street tire pass. To the point where i come completely out of the throttle... then get back in it and complete the pass to 12.4. Gave one more attempt... last pass, grinded second again... called it a day. I had no opportunity to even learn how to drive the car down the track because of the second gear shifting issues. Suspension is straightened out now. Im just working on making more power now and will be pulling the trans to rebuild it and put a mcleod clutch in it... then ill go back to the track.

That should clarify everything. Any other questions... PM me. Im sure Clonedws6 has my posts on close radar.

What's was the elevation & DA during that run? Around the time I witnessed those bottom 12sec passes in the ZL1 DA was around 450-900ft. I'm at sea level.

Lol, gotcha.
both runs were right around 900-1100. NED isnt the fastest track either. 3-4mph faster at atco.

Yes and untouched heads.
I'm guessing the L99 is identical to the LS3 bore/stroke wise?

It is.
They're telling me to lower compression for nitrous so tuning will be easier.
The block should hold about 850rwhp I'm told.
