Pictures of the trans for 5.0 people. I dont wanna hear it from anyone else. No one here has opened up an MT82... so no one here has the room to say a damn thing.

Anyway... as you can see from the internals... 1st and 2nd gear are actually beefier then any tremec. And that came from the guys mouth who has built every tremec in existance. The weak links looking at the trans, are mainly the cheap plastic shift pads. Its common to replace them with bronze pads. That keeps the transmission shifting firm and not turning to slop over time. My 3-4 shift fork was the only one with damage to the pads. One broke and was in the bottom of the casing. The other was crushed completely. The only other internal weak link, is the welded tabs to the forks... which is very easily strengthened by anyone who knows how to weld. The syncros are just beat from abuse and the every so awesome VALEO (boss 302) twin disk made in turkey. For now, im replacing the syncros... the bad pads on the 3-4 fork... and installing my Mcleod RST with aluminium flywheel. Over the winter, ill be grabbing some bronze pads and REMing all the gears. Only other thing necessary to do is make sure the shifter is properly adjusted so not to hurt shift forks. As far as the strength of this trans... theres not a single part in there which leads me or the guy i did it with to believe it is "junk". In fact its a pretty beefy trans... just with a few little things that need to be tweaked.

Another thing thats nice is that the rings are seperate from the gears themselves... making it very cheap and easy to faceplate/proshift the trans.

The fastest street cars in OKC arent even on that show. Only the fastest street cars from a dig in the 1/8th.

Nobody on here besides you has ever opened one of those trans? Id be shocked if that were true.

Im glad thats all you got out of what I posted....This is LS1tech... When people post blanket statements saying the MT82 is junk... yea...they havent opened one up. Heres the guy I talked to before opening it up. All he has done to his is a clutch and bronze shift pads. He has been in the 9s with it. Has over 80 passes with it on just a pad upgrade. He drives it... and it traps over 140. Id say its a little better then junk. A pad upgrade is literally an entry level swap. The pads cost 150 bucks from liberty. Far from a "built" transmission. A "built" transmission would be removing the remote mount shifter and changing to a top mount tail shaft, etc. The forks are beefy, the gears are beefy. Even has kevlar lined rings.

I HIGHLY doubt that. Houston has some of the fastest street cars out there... I see some of them on a daily basis passing by my work.

Gotta agree with this. I wasn't really trying to get into the argument but it's really not anyone's business how much someone makes a year. If they want to share it with you that's their prerogative.

On other things. I am no longer in Germany but I am in a cloudy hole called Belgium now. The roads are awful and there are hardly any fast cars around here.

Dude get real. If you could truly afford the 90" you would have atleast gotten a Grand Sport instead of going to an independent lot and buying a used base model. If you had paid attention to what I said earlier, that is my BEDROOM, we barely even watch that TV as we are pretty much always in the family room:

That's my baby. Elite Pro-70XF 70" 3D LED, with Sanus LL-11 low profile wall mount, Pioneer SC-57 9.1 and Triton Cinema 5.1.
