Yeah, area for sure. The 5.0's here are about 40,000$ 41,000$ and i saw a brand new loaded 6 speed 392 mango challenger with 6 miles on it for 42,999$

Florida they are both under 40,000$

wow..392 under 40k would be a sweet deal. If i new about the X-plan from Mustang club of America when i bought my car i could have got it for about 27k instead of 29k.

I'd hardly call myself butt hurt. I'm glad Dodge is throwing out more power. I'm just looking at it from a cost to performance perspective. I compared Dodge's premium V8 to Chevy and Ford's base model V8. If you want to compare base model to base model, then I ask how do you like the Challenger R/T vs the 5.0/SS performance-wise?

Or let's flip it around. How do you like the SRT-8 vs the GT500/ZL-1? Either way you have to go with the Chevy/Ford car vs the Dodge, UNLESS you are buying the Challenger for its looks.

Not everyone picks the car they are driving because it's the fastest. I personally like Chryslers interiors better than the other two which would also sway me towards the challenger. The SRT seats are amazing and to me feel better than any GM (GTO seats are the closest I can think of) or Ford seat I have sat in which would make driving a certain car more enjoyable. A quick good handling car that is comfortable is what I like. I would personally buy a 300c SRT8 Before the challenger but to me 4 doors and room for 5 is more useful. Its not only looks but an overall package.

I know where you are coming from... I would take a CTS-V wagon over the coupe.

^ I agree. The coupes look funny to me especially with that single tailpipe in the middle. Plus I don't think they weight that much less than the sedan, I could be wrong tho.

Most people buy "modern muscle cars" for looks and hp not 1/4 mile times, most of us on here are prolly not in the majority but dodge got it 2 for 2 in those aspects

Price is only one side of the argument. Look at how many people actually compare the new GT to the old LS1 F-body. One aspect of the argument that's it.

I would kill for a cts-v wagon.

BTW, the coupe only weighs roughly 30-50 less than the sedan.
The wagon only weighs 100 lbs more than the sedan.
That's why it gets my vote out of the 3.

No manual. No sale. JMO.
Also, the aftermarket for dodges sucks *****, as I'm sure you already know.
I also prefer that the CTS-V is smaller and I also like the interior more. JMO.

This one barely had any miles on it and first time out @ the track. Saw one go 12.3@113 back in January.

About the same. Huge doors, lousy rear visibility. Smooth though!

Dodge is starting to look into the manuels for the sedans. Aftermarket isnt what ford or chevy is but its good enough to get a 4000+lb sedan to run 9.2's@150+mph...And good enough to get this 4000+lb CAM ONLY sedan to run mid 11's...just sayin.

Do the 5.7's actually make decent power? Can you get 400 at the wheels with a cam, bolt ons and ported heads?

I ask because I've been thinking about getting the 5.7l WK Jeep Grand Cherokee because it can actually tow, unlike the srt8.
It also doesn't have the ridiculous srt8 premium. But if it can't make decent numbers then I'll probably go with the TBSS.

Fail? You just can't admit when your wrong..If my post so full of fail, then tell me how a 4000lb+ car can run better or equal times to the 5.0?
