Default 2011 5.0 vs 2002 A4 SS

DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT KNOW THE OWNER OF THE CAR, I DID NOT HAVE A CHANCE TO SPEAK WITH HIM. I DO NOT KNOW IF IT WAS STOCK OR NOT, IF IT WAS MANUAL OR AUTO, IF THE GUY COULD DRIVE, IF THE OWNER COULD FIND HIS WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG.

That being said. I was headed out to get some dinner for the wife and I and came up next to a white 5.0 stang with a guy driving it prolly my age (late 20's early 30's). He threw me a glance and a quick rev, so I proceed to stall mine up a bit, light went green and we both hit. We let out about 95-100 for safetys sake with him having about a fender lead on me. He shot me another glance and an head nod o' approval and then turned into an apartment complex. I proceeded to get dinner. This really makes me want to get next to one at the track with someone whos a meteokre driver. I have to say I got to drive one the other day and Im really impressed, and as much as it pains me to say this, id take it over the new camaro.

Nice run. Feel free to come to the dark side, we have cookies.

Just curious what is a "Deatschwerks DW300.1" that you have in your sig? My knowledge of ls1 parts isnt very deep.

I work for the dark side lol. They make me park behind the building . Even though I get a hefty discount on them Ford just doesnt pay me enough to be able to afford one. It is a really nice car though, its the first mustang (i.e: non cobra) that ive really liked since the early 70's cars.

Good run.

Only thing I wish is I would have waited a yr and just picked up a used one for cheaper. Even though I only paid 29k for mine I know i could have got it cheaper used.

Oh and the parking out back is funny. My wife's work makes her do the same thing cause she don't drive a Chevy.

Its the fuel pump im running. Deastchwerks is a local injector & pump company here in OKC. I had issues getting a racetronix and heard some horror stories about walbros so I decided to give this one a try.

HAHA I could have did basically same with the SS with wife working there. When they knew I was getting rid of the G8. They offered me fully loaded 2SS/RS for 28k.

Where I am though you see more SS then 5.0's.

Honorable death. It's always nice when the other guy is cool and gives you a nod/wave. I've been waiting to run one of those bad boys myself but every time I see one I'm in the DD. Time to ad more mods so that doesn't happen again

Wow... 2 tight runs with new 5.0's with old ls1'sin srk at once. So far on the street the 5.0 are'nt living up to their already legendary status.

We both had a good launch from a dig and we both let out around 100 just because it wasnt safe to be running at that spot in the first place, much less at over 100mph.

I asked because I've heard people saying that those 5.0 shine on higher speed, but you're right safety comes first and props for keeping it safe.

I only trap 106 anyways, so I really see no reason to race above that. Im not a supra owner, i dont do 60-160 rolls.

At 28k its thousands of dollars loser deal to say the least. I would've taken it just to take it at that price, especially if it was new, even with employee discount. They must have been super desperate to get rid of it.

It was new. One that been sitting on lot for few months no one wanted. It was the white with the whiteish leather. They have same issue with a SS/RS convertible. Been on lot since they came out.
