two for one Coming home from family breakfast today, i caught up with a modded 4.6 GT (nice exhaust) and an lt1 (l98? how do you tell the difference?) c4 vette playing around. i passed both of them en route to about 132mph, then slowed down to a more reasonable speed. the vette and i lined up at the next stoplight. Guy looked about my age (mid 20s), he and I exhanged the normal "nice car" bullshit. I asked him if he had anything done to it, he said no, he'd just gotten it, although it had 7 (?!) gears. i didn't say anything to him about the gears, just asked if he wanted to run. he said sure.
the mustang was behind me, and had to know by the way we were revving that we were about to take off. well, light turns green, i spin, he spins, he jumps about a half a car ahead off the line until i hook and then it was all me. i had at least 3 cars on him by 60mph and uncountable carlengths by 100mph. the gt couldn't even keep up with the vette, although to be fair to him it's possible that he got a bad start since he was behind me.
I slow down and let the vette catch up, he said something i didn't catch and made a motion like he missed a gear, i said whatever and gave him a thumbs up and took my turn to go home. good morning overall.
