Look @ the bright side; my "idiotic argument" caused you to make your 1st post in thread. Let's rephrase it and call it a relevant-idiotic argument.

true fanboy fashion. I like that.
These are MAGAZINE times for gosh sakes, the same mags that ran the 2011 GT's and got slower times, along w/ several VIDEOS of private owners w/ 392's fresh off the showroom with DEALER PLATES running these times.
On top of the that, the runs I speak of are ones I saw in PERSON. Now with that said, did you witness the 12.30 run in the A6 Mustang yourself, or are you just going off word of mouth? Since by your logic, im sure you give 'word of mouth' more credibility than what one sees with his own 2 eyes.
Try again.

How the hell is that being a "fanboy?" I am using times that OWNERS have run in their cars across the country. The fastest recorded time for an automatic 5.0 is a 12.37, and the fastest for a 392 SRT-8 is 12.30. Magazines don't even use dragstrips 9 times out of 10, which is why most of the people on this forum are smart enough to take their times with a grain of salt. As far as runs you've seen in person, I've seen LOTS of runs in all sorts of cars where the driver couldn't get the most out of their cars. I've seen '03-'04 Cobras run mid 13s in great DA, seen LS1 F-bodies run 14s in great DA... trust me sir, I am far from a "fanboy."
And don't smile too hard. I believe Chaman was speaking on the both of us.
Keep going. I'm having fun with this one.

Your saying that times I have seen in person at one of the countries best & fastest tracks (MIR) along with videos of private owners running their fresh off the lot 392's, deserve less credit than what you're stating you've seen posted on a forum board?!? That makes you sound like an idiot, no pun intended.

Still looking for a video, but here's another forum link (yay)
http://forums.themustangsource.com/f...011-gt-489351/
Edit: The guy who ran the 12.37 @ 114mph is known as "Uncle Phil," and he ran at Cecil. Can't find a video though.

You wont find one video of a Bone Stock A6 5.0 going 12.3/4/5 yet there are now quite a few of bone stock 392's running those times.....LOL the mustang guys just dont get it the 392 is the faster car. If I can beat and run with 5.0's in my intake and tuned 6.1 I can assure you the 392 is faster.

I still dont buy that it was stock. I have yet to run any stock 5.0 that has ran like a low 12 second car period. Especially an auto are you kidding me? My 01 6-Speed WS6 Went 12.7@109-110 at best in ideal temps. I put a CL on a A6 5.0, now if that car is anywhere near a low 12 second car would he not have been able to walk right by me with ease? Something just dosent add up. Its like this a C5Z is a low to mid 12 second car. It will beat a lightly modded F-Body 90% of the time a 5.0 will beat a lightly modded f-body 50% of the time...

It just dosent add up. The magazines have the 5.0 as a 12.8-12.90 car, the public has them at 13.0-12.7 cars but one guy has an auto at 12.3??? what did he do that the other auto guys didnt....step all the way on the accelerator???

i dont really care about this discussion either way...im not stock. but....
i can take solice that i can make more power than any bolt on LS1,2,6.
i make 420rwhp when i run the aggressive tune. without the boss intake or longtubes.
i know thats a low blow. the 392 might be a little quicker than a GT. a smidgeon. but slower than a Boss LS.

went back to the track this evening. last friday temps were 90's and heat index was close to 100. ran a best of 12.93@109 - totally stock down to tires A5 tranny.
This evening the temp was right at 80 degrees, still humid. by the end of the evening it cooled down to 78 degrees and I ran a best of 12.827@110.94 1.929 60' totally stock.
I am positive this car has 12.5-12.6 in it when temps drop to low 60's and the car is broken in. it just hit 2800 miles on it.
