Awesome. I was hoping paint would be part of this project.

As I said before, the LS1's converter flashed to 5100 when you mash it, so I just drew that part in. Peak torque is 20ft-lb lower in the LT1 as well.

**edit:I hadn't seen this dyno sheet before, but I just noticed it was in STD...
Somethings wrong with the LT1s torque. 306 is almost at stock output. I wonder what his trap speed is in the 1/4.

I have a LT1 C4 with 180cc heads and a similar cam. I run 11.5-11.6s @117-119. Race weight is 3150. With that being said, I have never had a problem with cam/bolt-on LS1s like that LT1 had.

Assuming the heads were done by somebody knowledgeable(and not home ported), he should run pretty close to my #s. The LT1 sould have been the one pulling.

Can't explain it. With the 3 speed it ran 12.0s @ 113/114, mostly because of the big 28" tire it wouldn't launch hard and 60' like you'd expect.

From what I understand, the 3-speeds have pretty weak gearing. Nothing like the 700r4s 3.06 first gear. Coupled with the tire, it kind of takes the effectiveness out of the 3.90 rear.

The LS1 runs good for just a cam/bolt-ons. Do you know what intake manifold he's running?

I think it was 1.7 60's, maybe a 1.6 but nothing like you'd expect. The 26" tire would have made a nice difference with the auto, so we'll see how it does with the 6 speed.

The 99 is running an LS6 manifold.

Horrible 60's. My car was cutting 1.7's on street trim (balder M/T ET Street Radials on ZR1 rims, stock ws6 wheels up front) with just the full exhaust, gears, and stall

Damn 28" tires ripped him off

Tell me about it, I cut a 1.90 on $70 245 street tires.

Marc, you might be interested to know there are 2 other LT1s that will be appearing in a video coming up once they are finished here soon, both are slow half-assed "racecars".

First is a 96 Formula WS6, was a 6 speed, then it was going to be a 3 speed but now it's a glide with a 383 LT1, 5500 stall, 24x/24x cam, stock heads. It was supposed to go to some 15" wide tires with a 400ci sbc with a 3 or 400 shot on it, 4 link, etc. I don't really care since it's a retarded build, so I haven't kept up on all the details...plus the kid loves to lie so who knows what's true. I guess I am friends with him, but he annoys the **** out of me (and a bunch of others) since he thinks the old school sbc is unbeatable. Let me put it this way, he tried to tell me spark plugs effect displacement. (oh and last I heard, it's getting a cage )

The other is a guy I know through some friends, stock cube LT1, cam, big stall, 30" tires, th400, someone told me 4.56 gears, weigh reduction, speed density tuned because it just has a filter on the intake.

Did I mention our track closed last year? (Here's some pics from last month of it wasting away.)

I forgot about this video. Here is the same LT1 but with the 3 speed in it, vs my car when it only had a lid, longtubes, true duals, 3.73s (no tune, no ls6 intake). I only trapped 108 at this point.

Video starts on just before the race, if it doesn't skip to about 3:20

1. The track looks like it has gone to ****
2. Both of those LT1's sound retarded. And not in a good way. The issue with anybody modding the LT1 is that you need to do a whole system approach. LS1's being the far superior motor are easy to mod and a credit card can get you into the 11's easily. LT1's require the whole system approach. Not just throwing together parts that sound good on paper like a lot of people seem to think.

Perfect example: A friend Austin's LT1 Camaro had a budget unbalanced 355 build, valve job done to the heads, lt4 hot cam, full bolt-on's, gears, stall, drag radials and he ran a 12.2@109

Another friend's LT1 was a baby cam LT1 and he would beat most guys with the huge CC306 and GM847 cam because they didn't use the parts to compliment the cam and/or build.

3. I am not interested in any video. Here is an LT1 built right and the car is actually for sale on the forums

HAHA... I know.

I'm moving to Florida first. Going to be that a while then buy one, don't want to get tied down. I will be 100% debt free around Feb. '12, moving around May... Probably will be end of '12 when I actually make a purchase.

I actually kind of decided to sell my truck today and keep my Trans Am, it will be my DD again.

AFR/custom grind roll race Z06 for a weekend/toy car and my Trans Am for a "beater" dig car, bitch please!
