No matter how close the performance/price is, I refuse to compare a Corvette to a Mustang. They are just too different.

Different yes. But still running same type numbers with the new GT500 and C6 and C6Z.

What about when the new GT500 comes out for 2013 and makes over 600hp and weighs even less then the 3700lbs it does now?

Would you compare a GT-R to a vette? They are different cars? One has a advantage of weight one has advantage of AWD.

I feel much better comparing a GT-R to a Corvette than I do a Mustang to a Corvette. Something about that comparison just doesn't sit right with me. They have always been very different approaches to two different markets.

Mustang=muscle car

Vette C6/C6Z=sports car.

ZR1/GT-R=super cars

Flame suit on, but I am not sure I'd put either Corvette (or the GT-R, really) in the "super car" category. That is more than just performance.

Oh, I know all about it. I know what it can do, I know what it can outperform, I know how great a car it is "for the money." But that last caveat doesn't exist when you are talking about a "super car." The definition of a "super car" is to be a no holds barred machine.

True^^ I would say the z06 has super car performance, but interior and such is not up to super car quaility

Good run OP, I'm sure you will see him again at the pavilions or something.

Wish I could get a 5.0 race

Funny you say that. I was in a nearby town today in my truck and turn right beside a new black 5.0 after a light. I was so damn pissed I wasn't in my car lol. I went and got my car but i could not find the black 5.0 anywhere . I never noticed how damn skinny the tires on those cars were tell I seen that car today. Looks like 225-235s

If it had the 18's they come with 235's, 19's come with the 245's. WHY WHY WHY! LOL

Also the Z06 can run all way up to right under 100K if you get every option on it. As far as super car not sure I put it there. I would still take one.

I think I would still put the ZR1/GT-R in super car status. There interior is nice, and I have been in a 05 Lambo and I actually wasn't really impressed.
