Default Any stock LS1's run an E38 BMW 750iL?

A kid I grew up with thinks he is hot **** in his E38 BMW 750iL (thats a '94-'01 model) it has a V8 and an A5 transmission. I don't know anything about the car specs, weight etc, other than the power output rating, 282hp and depending on year 310-324lb ft.

I would assume this boat of a car weighs plenty more than a 99 Firebird does and the stock ls1 powered car would maul the BMW but just want to be certain before I make any comments to him and have to prove to him that his V8 BMW isn't all high and mighty in the speed department.

Side note:
I know the newer ones 02-present have 7 series that are anywhere from 6 cylinders to V12's and the V8s and up make good power so those stock for stock might beat an LS1 but they probably still weigh more.

If your stock LS1 can run better than a 15 second 1/4, you should be good

Haha yeah I think I can handle that, even being an A4 on street tires with 2.73's...

There is another kid we both know that has a 99-04 Mustang GT with bolt-ons that supposedly makes 300whp. I'd like to run him too, another friend of mine had more work done to his 04 GT I think and he only made 288whp and had a best 1/4 that was over a 13.5 second pass.

I have a solution to any concern you would have with racing - mod it

Well I just spent 10k on the car so I don't really have a budget for mods right now. It has a catback. I'm hoping to get a lid asap, everything else will have to wait :/

I was thinking a Nitrous Outlet HALO package, 75 or 100 shot. $1250.

I missed that, thanks for the link. I wish Summer wasn't almost over, if I could work 2-4 more weeks here at my internship I could buy an intake manifold, TB, LT headers, and Y-pipe all at the same time and tune it. That would make things much more interesting for these match ups.

Surprisingly I haven't had any imports try to screw with me yet at I remember and I've had the car a month and a half!

Ya man don't feel that bad, I'm the same exact way. I just got this car in feb. also for 10k and I want to put a ls6 intake/ported TB, LTs, ORY and tune in the same time too but I'm so tight on cash right now that I can't see this project coming along until summer of next year So in the mean time just doing some appearance mods and I had some cash left over and did a lid w/ k&n couple months back but I really CAN NOT wait to do these mods so I can really appreciate the car (even though I still do ), but in due time I guess

If you cant afford mod's focus on driving the **** out of it.practice your launch and shift points. Also look into changing the crappy shocks/springs and add some lower control arms and subframe connectors into the mix. These make a world of difference in your cars handling.

Believe me, my 40+ miles per day driving has me practicing lol, my shocks/springs are good at the moment and I was actually gonna point out that ima have suspension done first (lca, reloc. brac., phb) eventually before headers/tune, prolly in the next couple months.

I have lower control arms at a friends house waiting to be installed. I try not to drive it too much, 1 because I have to pay for gas for two cars and 2 because I want to keep the mileage down for long term mods (i.e. cam, possible FI or nitrous)

That kid or other in the 99-04GT is a grey car with big tires in the rear? Youlose or something on the plate? Because I destroyed it in my Z really really bad on 140 two weeks ago. That car is a turd. You can tell him I said that lol.

It's a 4600lb, full size sedan, making 322hp at the crank.
That pretty much speaks for itself.

In a vertical race (i.e: cliff dive), he'd have his hands full racing that beast.
