Default Ran an Altima today....ha.

Here is the video of my friends 06 Altima. It is 3200 lbs with him in it. He went to Irwindale last night and ran 8.71 @ 81 mph with a 1.89 60 ft. We ran them last night, and I got him by only 4 both in a dig and roll race. The dig race, we both had traction issues, and he and I were both up in smoke for all of 1st gear. You can actually hear him blow through first gear and chirp second in the video. I have a 99 SS M6 with lid and cat back only. He has a 06 Altima with cams and exhaust. I was also racing in the middle turn lane, and it was extremely dusty. Quick little V6 for sure. Sorry about the quality, it was pretty dark, and this was my GF's first time ever in a street race, much less filming one on her camera phone. You can see he was out on me in first, and most of second. I came around him the top of second, and walked away in third.

FYI this car has stuck to a stock GTO with the 6.0, beat a 350 Nismo, broke off numerous fox body GT's and NE GT's. He is currently wanting to find a new 5.0 to race.

You got him by 4 cars and he wants to race a new 5.0? Makes no since. Tell him have fun getting dusted. I still don't think he could beat a 05+ one stock.

Are you new to LS engines or something?

Tell your friend that his VQ35 Altima will get raped by a new 5.0; it will save him the headache of looking for one.

So his car stuck to a 6.0 GTO and you easily put 4 cars on him with just a lid and a catback? I'm pretty sure your car and a stock 6.0 would be neck and neck if both driven properly.

I would call bs on the gto run, but then again anything can happen on the street with a shitty driver.

I still want to see him stay with a GTO. Specially after the *** rape he took in that video.

Looked like another high 13 low 14 sec car to me.

The reason he wants to run a 5.0 is because there was a Mustang Club at Irwindale and all they could do was run mid 8's in the 1/8. We all know on the street it is a drivers race if the cars are kinda close. Anything can happen. The car is quick. I thought it was going to be closer than 4 actually, I was surprised. I will go to the track soon here in PHX in the same trim as I raced him and see what my car does.

No I am not new to the LS platform. I have been street racing for 11 years. My friend has been street racing for 25 years. This Altima is his family car. His street car, is a Datsun 240 with a ZZ383 that goes mid 10's on a 6 inch wide drag radial. Ask anybody in So Cal about the little Z from the High Desert.

The whole point was, I finally have something that beat him in a race. He has told me for years, I will never own anything that will be him. So basically I can beat his family car, and get raped by his street car.

That is why he wants to run one on the street. In the end whoever races this car loses. You beat an Altima........ It is on the same premise of racing a girl.

Tell him to come to TX plenty of 5.0's running around that will run him.

If that was feasible I am sure he would, but So Cal is crawling with stock one's right now. Most people can't drive much less, launch a 300 hp car on the street so that is why I think it would be a good race. His car should go mid 13's in the 1/4, and I pretty sure from a dig an average driver in a Coyote could do the same. I think it could be a good race.

I search for 5.0's to race out here all the time. I cant find one, except the one on the freeway, and I was out on him until I went into 5th gear. I am pretty sure I could get one from a dig. I want to race a GTO but I cant find one. Maybe I should put up a post on Mustangforums and ask a 5.0 to race me, hell if anyone knows of a GTO or 5.0 in the PHX Metro Area I would love to run them.

looked to me like that altima got raped once you got grip. OP maybe traps 107-108 mph im guessing the altima at best will run mid high 13's his 8.7@81 comes mostly from what im guessing is slicks or some really sticky tires. altima's arent known for sub 2.0 60fts .
