It will trap atleast 120. Z06 traps 125ish and it has 80 more hp.

Have to look at the weight difference also. The ZL1 will weigh at least 3700-3800 lbs. Compared to the Vetts what 3200ish.

They said the wheels was 22lbs lighter. They didn't say that was each. So 22lbs isn't nothing.

The Challenger looks good in pictures, but in person it looks like a pickup truck. How could they make it so enormous?

I doubt the ZL1 is going to weigh 4200 lbs. That would be more than a CTS-V.

We can pretty much chalk it up as a fact that the ZL1 will be lightet than the CTS-V and we already know it has more power. Should be a close 1/4 mile with the advantage going to the ZL1 over the GT500.

How can you say advantage..We don't have no confirmed numbers for the new GT500 yet...Weight on either..

I think we are in for some good dog fights between them...With the driver being the key

LOL..

On top gear they sai dwas racing a GT vs a horse on a dirt track yet it was a 2010 V6.

Then they put a "GT500" up against some thing but it was a 2010 GT.

I trust them guys like i trust the Iraq Army. NOT AT ALL!

The CTS-V Coupe has been tested and weighed and came in at 4237lbs in one test and 4204lbs in another test. I doubt they'll be taking 400lbs out of the ZL1 to bring the weight down to 3800lbs. Also, the V has been tested to run around 117-120mph so figure the ZL1 to atleast put a 122mph run on the board if not better. My best guess for the ZL1 is a curb weight of around 4050lbs. That would put its power to weight ratio right at 6.92lbs per hp. Still less than the GT500 making it a race of driver/traction/gearing. All assuming they don't up the power on the GT500 for 2013. These cars are all ready traction limited from the factory.

you are forgetting the AT LEAST 500lb weight difference. and i am curious how the gearing will play into the equation, as well.

i can see these automagic cars doing well with very light mods and a stall converter. the m6 cars will be just like all the others and trap a second faster than they et.

the current 5th gen SS is 3880lbs and considering how much the Coupe CTSV is i doubt it being much if any lighter than 4000lbs

It says on the article you posted that it will be just under 4,200lbs. And it's been discussed in the other two threads about this car.

Edit: The one you posted has almost zero actual information. Look for the other two threads and post up the info from those.

they dont want this car to represent anything about a 4th gen.... this car is more for someone who is looking to do alot of road racing. even the engineers talk about all of the upgrades which would help it shave time around corners.

i think you misread my post. i was referring to the engine generation, not the chassis.

Ok 500 lbs is 5 tenths. 75 hp is about 7 tenths. Exactly my point

Ford has said the GT500 will gain power and lose weight. Now it will be how much of each. A base model I seen weighed 3700 in one thing and like 3750 in another. SO it might be hard for them to drop weight in it.

still going to slower tho even with the more power, its just like gt500s the hp isnt their problem its putting it down and weight. What size and brand tires are they putting on the ZL1?
