1997 Cobra vs 1994 Z28
#23
Hopefully we'll see a race soon between this 97 Cobra and the other one that the Z28 raced previously. The other Cobra has the same mods, plus the edition of an off road x-pipe and 4.30 gears. He actually swapped his rear for a long distance trip he had to make, so the car currently has 2.73's, but he's going to swap back soon and we'll set up the race after he does.

you KNOW im a b headed 4v fan, but most folks use parts that do nothing for them. full bolton car making 280rwhp is typical. that one probably made 265rwhp.
i remember both cars at the track back when the 4v cobras hit the streets. they were almost exactly even M6 for M6. 8.9's in the 1/8th here in clarksville. auto lt1's ran 9.17-9.27.

Lol, I raced a guy a few times that had a stock 96-98 Cobra when I had my 1994 Trans Am (stock) and he would always walk me a bit. After the races he told me that my car was a piece of **** because my motor was alot bigger so I should have won. I was like, "the extra 30 hp your car is rated doesn't matter I guess?"
See above. You must not have been on the way to get your Mullet cut, or else you would have been in a much bigger hurry.

There's a group of guys around here that talk **** about roll racing all the time. Then the same guys set up these races where one car gets to start 3 cars in front, plus the move, plus the other car has to clear him by a car, plus you have to eat a chicken sandwich before you can hit the gas. I guess that's a real race
Lol, that's some funny **** right there. I hear that commercial all the time

Clearly the cobra is a tiny bit faster. But lets move forwarda 1 generation of non super charged 01cobra and a same year ls1. Its always going to be back and forth year to year for both makes

I personally love the fact that its a back and forth thing. Keeps this hobby worth while. BTW 99 Cobra vs 99 LS1 was a driver's race.

I beat the cobalt. You're the douche bag who spewed a bunch internet BS about cobalts when you really had no clue what you were talking about. You got called on it and made to look like the loser you are an have been trying to get back at me ever since I'm guessing.
Well that wasn't it.

Stock my 99 ran 13.5 (mph wasn't that great so we will leave that out) and I know of a lot of stock LS1s that run that or worse. Just remember fellas, your Joe Blow at the local TNT isn't your stock 12 second LS1 driver. Now on the highway, no way a stock N/A 4.6 will hang.
