2001 Camaro Z28 vs 2010 Camaro RS
#181
I honestly don't see what the big deal is with this situation, the guy was out having a little fun in his car and played around with a RS Camaro with a girl driving it... What does it matter that a girl was driving? What does it matter is was a RS? So what he was being silly and was waving his hand out the window, I think its kind of comical but that's just me. Point being this is being blown out of the water...

I dont care what avg is all I know is I run 12.60s with headers and all season tires, not even the P zeros! So just because your at the track with worthless drivers dont mean thats all the car has. My intake is a 40$ piece I built in my garage and it did nothing for my track times, so my only mod is 350$ budget headers and I am in the mid 12s... so whats your point, only thing you proved is most people you raced around cant drive! I dont even think I am that good of a driver myself, my car with a GOOD driver would be 12.40s! I dont even power shift or redline the car yet. Give me under 1000da and good track prep and 50s would be easy!

I ran 12.6's with an intake and tune.
*Que Ohioborn to get in here and tell us all how his 5.0 runs 9's with a K&N filter and Christmas tree air freshener.

not trying to fight with any of you 5th gen guys, just pointing that i ran the same time as the guy that said it, with the same mods. by no means am i saying that im faster than all similar 5th gens, just the guy that made the argument. track condions, da, driver, many things can effect times. he just seemed to think mod for mod, they were much faster. im saying they're close

there is no denying that a well driven 4th gen could hang with or beat a 5th gen, but i just don't see how anyone could say that 9 times out of 10 a 4th gen driven equally as well as a 5th gen would end up with the 4th gen on top. the 5th gen does attract a lot of horrible drivers though.

And the mustang feels a whole lot cheaper and more narrow on the inside to me anyways.

God I hate getting involved in these arguments but you're wrong. The weight kills the 5th gen but the LS3 still has enough nuts to out perform a 4th gen with equal mods until you start getting in to the low 11's/high 10's. At that point the 5th gens suspension technology just isn't there yet.
I ran 12.6's with an intake and tune.

But 12.6 is sorry. 11.8 with intake and tune. Proof again the 5th gens suck *****.

you keep saying f body like the 4th gen is an f body and a 5th gen is not. WELL GUESS WHAT DUMBASS THEY'RE BOTH FBODYS. I hate people that come on here talking **** with a a4 2.73 geared lid and exhaust z28 thinking they are king **** and dont even know any of the history of these cars if you did you'd know that the new camaro was held to alot higher crash standard than the 4th gen because of new gov. regulations that update over time the crash impact strength of the 4th gen is laughable ever seen one get rear ended at 20mph with all these air bags and crash supports comes WEIGHT and the 5th gen is a whole lot safer car but alot of it was due to gov. regulated cash standards.

And let's get one thing straight, I never said my car would beat a 5th gen. But an M6 with 3.42's and an experiencied driver could definitely take one. But as taking down 5th generations go, I have beaten an M6 2011 Mustang GT, all about how good the other person is at driving a manual.

I couldn't agree more. I had a bad impression when I beat a 5.0 and an SS at the local 1/8 mile before I even put a wrench to my car. Thankfully they were both 6 speed cars, and I put all blame on the driver. Since then I have seen much better times from both of them. Both cars deserve a lot of respect with a decent driver.
