TC kicks on when your spinning. Where you spinning? Did you not turn TC off? Anyway, good runs, now time for the GTO to mod up. I've got a friend coming down with a base, manual 3.73 geared 5.0 coming down here soon. His best time is 13.0 at 112. I'm just hopping I can hold him off. That elevation is killing you guys! I've only got probably 45 more to the wheels the o4 GTO, but have trapped in the 112's
The family has some nice cars.

I've owned alot of cars, and I find myself realizing the Camaro is the best car I have owned. I think in many ways they are much nicer then a 5.0, and my experience with the 5.0's are simply extended test drives, so if and when I own one, I'm sure I'll grow more fond of them, with that said, I see a 5.0 in my garage at some point, and when that happens, it will need atleast 5 - 7k in it to run with my Camaro.

You don't know me, I don't really trade things in, I buy them outright.

If the TC kicked in it will handicap you big time. I raced a friends auto 5.0 with my TC on just forgot to turn it off and i hardly pulled. Once i turned it off especially how choppy the 5 freeway is around were i live it was a different race. The 5.0 is still faster no doubt great car but i think most of the comments up top shows that most people knew something was up.

I raced a few modded 5.0's auto's and m6's (cat back, tune and C.A.I) were I am with my close to stock(C.A.I, muffler delete, built tranny and 2800 stall with a tune) ls2 GTO and beat them by about a car or two to 0-110(on the street) or so. From a roll I was only good under 40mph anything higher they would pull pretty good after about 100 or so.

My car all so ran a 10.77 at 99mph with a 2.0 60' time stock at the local 1000' track. My car was a 105+ trap car stock in the 1/4 I think. It dynoed 325whp 327wtq stock to.

I could belive maybe a car to a car and a half from about 40 to 70 with the traction control fight you but not 4 cars.

Your 6.0 with its mods^^would be a good bit stronger then that 04. Especially with the stall and tune. Although a small stall, they really help us in the Auto's as well as the tune. I can relate to the roll races though. This car will go from a stop, but I raced a modded Evo the other day on the street starting at around 75, and being an Auto, it's pretty weak up there until it gets going, regardless of 1/4 mile times.

that was my point the a4 is not a roll racing car. I would like to see the video of the ls1 GTO a4 vs the 5.0 race from a dig.

40 mph is the biggest dead spot for the a4, not surprised by this story.

I do find it helps at 40 to manually drop a gear, but in "D", just hitting it really blows at higher speeds. There was a video on youtube posted of an A4 with mods, getting walked by a stock manual from a roll.

Anyway doesnt anyone see a problem here why is a full bolt on ls1 gto only trapping 97mph I realize its 4500 altitude but even with a da corrector of 5000 ft he would only be trapping 102-103 at sea level does anyone see something wrong there? The 5.0 otoh transends to a 108-109 trap at sea level which is about right for a stock car.. I would look into the tune of that gto tho.

We are going to go through the tune when we get a chance. AFR was good, timing was good. Not sure where a lot of power could be hiding but who knows. Maybe it is only trapping 93-97mph because of traction? I know he has big traction issues and was spinning all through 1st.

Wife took the mustang to work yesterday so I didn't get a chance to steal it for a rematch. It is her car so I only have access to it when she lets me.

I think the GTO is trapping low. BUt I have seen stock 5.0's trap at 110-114 all night at sea level. Average being right around 112.
