poor poor fox body vs cobalt ss one of my usual quick run that i dont normally post but this one had me laughin so i thought id share
(forgive ny grammar, im on my cell watchin baman with my son
crusin down thru rural mexico i spot a nice sounding 5.0 messin with a MS3....i know, do fox bodies ever sound bad? MS3 turns off so i pull next the fox and give him some ppfffft pfffft's....he seemes game as he tapped/lurched it a few times AND stopped for the yellow.
so there we are, dead straght road....nice long red to prep. im a lil worried so i put it on launch control. bring up the revs on the cross yellow....so he has to know ITS ON.
light goes green BOOM.....im off.....by myself......WTF?
he then blows by (flybye?). i dont get back on it, **** that i dont chase. he slows a bit so i line up again and remind him that im not just some cobalt 4door an give him a few more pffffft's.....we catch another light.
i roll down window and:
me: dude, we had the perfect set up, why didnt u go???
him: i wanted to see if u had enough. i was checkin out what u had in it.
me: well, its a turbo....and its fast enuf for my DD, im just lookin for a fun run if you are game
him: oh, well that explains it...i was like this guy is given me some blow offs but i wasnt sure.
me: i hear ya, i usually need to dance nekkid on my hood to get anybody to look over at the un-assuming 4door makin funny pffft noises.....
me: well what do u have done, she doesnt sound stock.
him: its not....few bolt ons but not too much.
me: ok, (keeps straight face) this should be good if you are gona get on it.
him: ok, this time i will
me: good....alright good talkin to ya.
windows up.
i dont use launch, didnt feel like bouncin off limiter waitin for light and im hoenstly not worried since i saw him do his flyby.
light goes green......rape.......thats all i can say. rape.
it was bad.....really really bad......like buses bad.
next light
him.....wtf!!??

*was a clean lookin 85ish lookin, fat wheels, sounded good, aftermarket hood, etc etc.....prob what, like a 15 sec ride?

I use to hate those old 5.0's...back in the late 80's early 90's when i had my 1971 firebird mostly squids owned them and they thought they were the ****..lol. i guess that is why i can't stand a damn mustang now..

Ha if I had a flux capacitor I would go back in time and slap the idiot that put the danm opti spark under the water pump hell I beat them for coming up with the idea

Good kill, I love ripping people in unassuming 4 door family sedans. I had a similar thing with a guy in a late 80's camaro non Iroc, but after I walked him bad repeatedly we pulled over and chit chatted for a bit. He had heads, cam, edlebrock carb(IIRC), long tubes, exhaust, and a 3200 stall.
........And yes I was spraying meth. Was my first kill on the juice and man did it make for a hell of a rapin'!

Oh thats epic haha. My friends ex girlfriend has a fox body and talks so much **** about 4 cylinders and imports. I asked her to race and she said it would "be a waste of her gas"

Awesome, I got a little bump off in mine the other day with a v8 gxp with exhaust that was cute. I have a run coming up with a bone stock 98 z28 6 speed car, im intersted to see how the balt does against it before and after the cam install.

had to slow down due to traffic. I can only imagine what he is thinking when he can't pull on a 7500# truck!! nice kill Jay.

I know the feeling. about a week ago or so I had an M3 try to come around me after we both turned onto rt59. he got the jump (he was about 2 cars back coming around the corner) and I figured I would see what happened. I stopped his pull immediately and he never gained on me until I shut down around 80mph (so we probably ran from 25-80) had to slow down due to traffic. I can only imagine what he is thinking when he can't pull on a 7500# truck!!
