2012 Charger SRT8 vs 2011 5.0 and Whipple 07 GT
#121
Lets just put it like this, there are more bone stock SRT8s running the claimed times then there are 5.0's. Show me 5 videos of bone stock 5.0's running the claimed times. The videos im posting are not the fastest times being posted they are the average and on average a stock 5.0 and 10'ss will go down to a 392 no matter how its put its the faster car. 114-115 mph trap speeds? what true stock 5.0 is doing that? Even car and driver got a 113.8 out of the 300 SRT8. We dont compare it to the GT500 and ZL1 because its not supercharged yet, come 2013 we will
Also yes 5.0's are trapping 114 stock. Sorry you are the mopar fan boy who can not believe that. As they are running mid 12's also.

"I know few 5.0's that run there. Should not be hard to get one to run. The two fastest stock ones have ran there time there. One ran 12.3 stock in an auto 5.0 now just ran 11's with nothing but tune and tires in his auto. "
So do I as well. And this green car is 4-0 vs near stock 5.0s there(though 2 drivers were kids that were terrible drivers). I think once it gets more miles on it 12.2s might be possible in great air.
Drive one of these with some miles on it-they roll out. I warned people n numerous threads that these cars despite being extremely heavy are very fast.

I'm going to propose to the track that no one is allowed to launch at higher than 3000 RPMS.
I'll forward you guys the link to my petition. The Not Fair Race Bitch Club is meeting this Thursday at 7. Don't be late.

i was sceptical about the 392. it seems it runs just fine.
most of you are using extremisms to illustrate your points.
i'll use one of my own... a 50k car HAD BETTER BE FASTER than my 32,900 dollar car. even if that 50K car IS ONLY .1-.2 FASTER and 1-2 mph quicker than my 32,900 dollar car. i guess a little weight reduction and bolt ons fixes all of that.

Bring the 5.0 Mustang or Mach 1 down here and we will line it up with our BONE STOCK SRT8 Challenger with a Automatic in it. It has 2200 miles on it now and very ready to play with any stock 2011 5.0 or SS Camaro or Mach 1.. I am a bowtie guy but I am telling you that New version 6.4 in the Challenger with 470hp/470torque will flat move out. I have a 02 SS camaro and it pisses me off too that it runs that good==but the facts are it does! The 6.1 isn't even close to it in performance. I know this because his brother has a first generation and he has a new one. The car pulls strong all the way to 173mph too.. It has a governor on it.
We are in Texas where it gets Hot and Humid as hell and race at the track frequently in not so good air conditions ,,,not in a magazine or keyboard.

Don't know how I missed this thread, more of the usual though.
Well, contrary to what you try so hard to make us believe, most SRT8s (the 6.1s) were mostly 13 second cars, at the track when I saw them run, hell even with mods. Same goes for the 5.0s and 5th gen Camaros...lots of shitty setups and drivers out there. I can't say anything about any 392s, never saw one ran...but the track opens up again next year so hopefully there will be some.

Bottom line is this:
-392s are going to continue to impress and will do so all while being able to grab some groceries and bring some friends along. Not bad for a four door imo.
-Stopsign can be disregarded .
-Whipple GTs underperform, and not all 5.0 run what the best of the best have run.
-Have a great day

I'm not sure if it was a SRT8 or a RT, either way it's sad. Doing less with more, it's the Mopar way.
