I know you are new and probably don't understand tuning to a large degree, but i'll try to lay things out a bit so you can get it. Yes Air and fuel is ideally what is tuned along with timing, but your NA engine stock can only draw in so much air volume so you are limited in your tuning. Every power bolt on you do is basically to allow air to flow easier and more volume through the engine along with giving it enough fuel to make a good Air to Fuel ratio.

This is why the turbo factory cars typically can achieve pretty good tune only numbers because not only are you upping the fuel that can be used, but you can up the boost along with it to make more power. More air(boost) and more fuel = more power. On an NA car that is the reason why guys not only do bolt ons, but also more importantly go with a bigger intake, better flowing heads and a cam is to basically allow more air volume in and out.

i often wondered this about my m6 car as i am the 2nd owner, and others have def suggested it. the car just seems too fast for the mods. it was purchased 7 years ago with 36k miles on it. we put hptuners on the car to remove cags and delete some codes a couple months ago. did some logging and slight tuning for the fun of it. the tune on the car showed 24* timing and afr was 12.6:1- my buddy said it was the stock tune, no doubt. we were able to get 4* timing in it without it knocking and didn't touch the wot afr.

Both got 60 more hp they had lid maf bellow 96mm tb and intake manifold and both had 1 7/8 lt and true duals. So alot of air was getting in and out.

60 from bolt ons? Everyone in this country needs to have that shop tune for them. That's really impressive

What cars were these on? I don't feel like reading back. Definitely let me know who it is, I have a feeling I know which shop it is...and it wouldn't surprise me if the #s were high coming from a certain local shop.

Sorry Kid but this is where i say to that. There is no freaking way and most of us know the best tuners. I want to see and before and after tune Dyno. Numbers to the shop and the guys name.

I had all of that without Tune and only gained maybe 15 RWHP and I know NicD knows his LS1 tuning as good or as better than anyone. I think you might have the details messed up a tad.
