It'll do at or over 111 every pass.
The first thing that should be done to these cars are gears. The gearing just flat sucks. Gears+ a tire would net a easy .5 sec. Watching Lazerlemon at the track was like ...when is this thing gonna start moving, then it takes off pretty well.

When you say stuff like this, you are inviting the criticism that I will give you freely. Everybody else has already moved past the weight issue, as it was figured out that it was a simple misunderstanding. You do not appear to have the intelligence to grasp this. And btw... It's EXPERIENCE.

this seems to be the general consensus. Why are ppl still arguing that 4th gens are faster? Haha

It's prolly just like in 1998 when parts were still expensive but a few got it done. Here we are again paying a premium for a few items. I'm going to try and not wear this motor out in 45k miles as I did with the ls1.

I think due to the weight-its hard to judge how fast you are going in one. The few sticks I drove were tough to launch.
No 4th gen is going to touch one stock to stock in the same conditions with manual trans cars from a dig or roll up to high speeds.

I just can't see out of them!!!!

I'm claustrophobic and was worried about being closed in but after a day of driving I no longer feel this way. I love driving the car and feel more a part of it, hard to explain but it takes a little warm up time.

If you toss my sorry *** stock time on the 5th gen top list at camaro 5...(a few of these cars are known to have mods that count as stock but I'll leave the guy who ran 12.5 at +1704 Da and a 1.9 60ft on the list to further my point
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...93#post1467093 )

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showpo...19&postcount=2

Not only did I trap high enough to compete with some of the ones quicker than me but you would find I'm pretty close to the cutoff time to make the top 30 list. My wife would have bumped the last car off the list with her pass even. It's not like every 5th gen out there is just going to spank a 4th gen stock to stock. As glenster has proven the 5th gen is ultimately capable of hammering down 110+ traps in high 12s in great weather but a strong 4th gen would be right behind.

I agree, Lazer was kind enough to let me drive his around for a afternoon. The car takes a bit to get used to before you realize how good it is. His has the the new fe4 suspension. It handles like a champ.

Must I compare the fastest list for the two? Yes the LS3 is a much stronger power plant but the 4th gens are much lighter with a solid axle and know how to work the quarter-mile better period.

Some of you clowns think because I went and bought a mopar I suddenly forgot my GM ****. Well you're wrong!

Good night guys.
allow me to point out where you failed (this particular time). i was referring to the faster car, as i explicitly noted. i was not referring to a damn thing regarding 1/4 mile ET or this so called "drag racer" thing you are referring to.

however, i disagree. i think 5th gen car would still out ET and MPH a same-mod 4th gen. your preference to cars has no bearing on your input, it is your lack of reading comprehension and general dumbassity that annoys the most.

DUMBASSITY hmmm I believe I just found a new favorite word. @S8ER95Z I was fortunate enough to track my car on a light day. DA varied between 6-700 took me a bit to figure it out but in the end I had at least 6 13.0@109-110 with one 13.1 pass in between then I got a 12.99@110.9 and a 12.98@110. These cars are a bit more challenging but also for me I was consistent. I was always able to back up the number. That being said I'm going to give it a few more goes stock and see just how far up the list I can make it.

Yeah I will never take credit away when it's due.. The ls3 5th gen (dare i say on average?) is quicker and faster (which has been proven)... My only point is the gap isn't as big as some people think. Fwiw with FRA/LID I was trapping 109.33 (best at 1500 da)... Mod for mod I don't see the 4th gen being equal... Though I think a stock 5th gen vs a lid/catback 4th gen would be a damn close race.

Let us know how you do when you run again.. Glenster I think said his best launch was at 3500rpm? In case that helps you.

Where are you? We are talking stock for stock. Why is this site full of jokers who jumped ship and every post has to be a validation of their purchase?

You bought a challenger
