You bought a challenger
Fact is, this Challenger will run door to door with your modded 5th gen BONE-STOCK. How's that for a joke slow poke?

That's the usual response I get from 5th gen owners after I put tail lights on their hideous looking Camaro's.

I agree. The 2010+ Camaro's look horrible IMO. Much rather have a new Mustang or even a Chally (although I am not a big Mopar fan). They are not as fast on average as people make them out to be. About 3 tenths/3-4mph ain't much. Besides, LS3/L92 4th gen swaps are far from rare these days.

Bottom line. If a 5th gen comes across a 4th gen with equal power he's getting his *** kicked.

Though I think a stock 5th gen vs a lid/catback 4th gen would be a damn close race.

Let us know how you do when you run again.. Glenster I think said his best launch was at 3500rpm? In case that helps you.
This^^ a lid catback m6 ls1 is capable of 109mph traps in decent conditions, which is right on par for most ls3 5th gens. 111+MPH traps maybe possible in a 5th gen but they arent really the norm, if you wanted to play it that way you could also say ls1's trap 109 stock because some m6's have but again its not the status quo.

youre correct.
average LS1 F-bod traps maybe 106mph.
average LS3 5th gen traps 108.5mph.

Not impressed with the performance of the 5th gen whatsoever. I test drove and didn't like anything about it. So I decided to buy a Mustang instead. lol

It was a cash purchase that I got a really good deal on from a friend. Couldn't pass up. Had to get my hands on one of these.

If you didn't take it out on a back road you didn't drive it. Possibly had 87 in it also. Either way nice 5.0 and have a blast with it. Both cars are great

Thanks. I actually flogged the dog **** out of it. Salesman let me & the wife take the the car by ourselves. It was a used 2011 LS3 with only 4300 miles. It's just that, even with such a great engine under the hood the weight and IRS just don't do it for me. To each his own of course.

I like the Mustang A LOT! Made the 3 hour round trip to Sparks, NV to Summit Racing last weekend to purchase a Pypes X-pipe and Zex kit with 175 jets. Should be fun!

It'll do at or over 111 every pass.
What was the da when you ran your bolt-on LS1? Maybe you're better at driving the 5th gen? My old '00 Formy 'hawk with full bolt-ons would trap consistent 112-113 full weight at Sac Raceway.

Well as previously mentioned the 5th gen is just a better car. Clutch system and shifter alone is worlds better than my 4th gen, I don't even want to get into the tire difference... The 2011 sitting here hooks like a beast on the street let alone a prepped surface and you dot have to count to three (or drill mod) the damn thing to shift it fast.

Welcome to 2012. lol Cars have gotten light years ahead in terms of...well, pretty much everything. Remember these 4th gens hit the showrooms in 1997. The fact that were even comparing them to a new 5th gen says a lot.

I will ALWAYS keep at least one 4th gen in my garage. lol

I think the car was 110-112 with those mods, maybe closer to 112. Did not get 114 till LS6 intake and near 118 with B1 cam and tune.

Stop making up ****, and really... hideous Your tank has nothing on the style of this car, get real! Not only does the interior and style look like crap, I felt like I was sitting in regular sedan! How boring is that dash You cant even tune that junk, so when us slow poke 5th gen guys are doing H/C setups and blower's you can feel good about your stock 392 that can just beat a stock SS
