I personally think the T/A should have done better here in this race but **** happens. Lol i think thats a fair understandment on how the two cars match up.
I'm sure if you take a look at the tires in the picture above you'll see the problem. And the 90k mile clutch slip just a tad on every shift.

Tires would've helped a little...but not enough. 5th gens are simply a faster/better car. The only 4th gen that would have a chance stock for stock would be a Camaro SS (lighter that the TA's) with the optional SLP stuff.

Tires are not gonna help you at all. Just make the clutch slip more. I'm surprised you wanted to run with all it's problems. If I would have known I'd not even bothered.

Going by this logic the best 4th Gen. to "have a chance" would be a Formula as it was the lightest of all the 4th Gens. My WS6, heaviest of all 4th Gens, went 12.82 @ 110 mph stock. It had a few other 12.9x runs but would typically go 13.0-13.2 around 108 mph.

Formula's were not the lightest. All options being equal they are gonna be 20# or so heavier just because of the flip lights. A friends Firehawk Formula was 30# heavier than my SS, and my car had leather( about +6lb). Same scale same day 1/4 tank gas for both. Both full weight newer cars.

My z28 was 3440lbs bone stock, full weight including a full tank of gas. Went 13.1@108 on a 2.1 60ft bone stock (with massive 245/50r16 RSAs).

I didnt say Firehawk Formula just a Formula. They were stripped down V6 bodies with LS1s in them.

Who stays stock in these cars? The 4th gen will always reign supreme because of the weight advantage. My LS3 Formula loves racing LS3 5th gens. It's not fair really.

I believe an m6 1sc car would be lighter than all of those others listed. Weird thing is I've seen plenty of them run the same times (slower really) than my ws6 car. I test drove one and was not impressed at all.

Whatever the case, the ls3 is a ******* monster in comparison to the ls1, power will overcome the weight difference mod for mod imho.

Never heard of the 1sc cars what are those? The Lt1 cars were indeed lighter than the LS1 cars.

There is no difference in the v6/v8 cars.

The blocks on the lt1 is iron, that makes the engine heavier. Where is it gonna be lighter to make up the difference?

You really don't know what your talking about do ya?

I did tell Nathan and Doug about the clutch acting up. I know it needed tires but I didn't know how bad til the next day when I had it on the lift. But you won, thats it.
