Op, what about dig run? Can that be arranged?
I would also look into a vararam intake with a ported tb. I have a blackwing on my coupe and from what i've seen the vararam reighns supreme on the c5s. Next would more than likely be a Callaway honker, Vortex rammer style intakes. Tehy tend to dyno lower but yield better et's and mph. Thoughts anyone?

I have a blackwing on there right now, I don't think the minimal power increase would be worth switching to a vararam. I'm either gonna throw a cam in there this summer, or step up to a C6Z. We shall see.

lemons12, you're right about the c5z in these videos, it was starting to walk in 4th, both runs. At least it would've walked the 5.0. I forgot to mention that while 400whp in a c5z is possible, not counting light flywheel and clutch, the drive train does rob more hp than an f-body to the wheels. It'd be cool if someone has this info as I've heard/read it before.
TRUE bone stock C5 base model and Trans Am base model dyno back to back immediately... The Trans Am made more power and torque.

I wouldn't mind doing that, or at least starting in 1st, but with the tires he had on at the time, he wouldn't have traction.

THIS is why HiO makes so much power than others with a bolt on Ls6.. He wouldn't think twice about doing this swap if it made 1.3 more Rwhp.
Do we know what the 5.0 put down Rwhp?

The mustang put down 410rwhp. For some reason, he didn't get his torque number.

Where exactly is SAR? I'm in Houston. Going to Royal Purple Raceway in Baytown on Friday. The guy in the 5.0 will be there along with a couple of my other buddies. Cammed 2000 SS and a C6 Z06 with cai and a tune. The c6z ran an 11.47 @ 128. He got some sticky tires and is hoping for 10's.

That little 5.0 surprised me, I have to agree I thought the Vette would have just strolled on the Stang hard. But with just a cam swap for the Vette it would get real ugly for the Stang up top fast.

I sure did!!
430whp for a bolt-on LS6 is being very optimistic. Again, a FAST is not going to gain much on a bolt-on LS6. With a ported FAST in the area of ~7whp and most likely lose a little TQ down low. At that minimal power level the LS6 manifold is not that much of a restriction. Besides a FAST 102 setup new cost about $1300!! LOL
Thanks for the kind words Lemons. Some guys don't understand the details.
Op your car has alot left in it. How much rpm you turning it?

as Lemons said. ewp, fast set-up, udp turn the rev limit to 7000 and shift @ 6800. That would make a huge difference. Probally near 20hp. I think your tune needs some work also. My ls6 went over 400rwhp the first time on the dyno with poopy mac headers and the stock SLP catback. The gear is'nt a big deal, especially from a roll. I just switched from 4.10 to 3.90 and picked up time. I actually would'nt mind trying some 3.73.
A set of 1.8 rr would get you 6hp. There's a thread where a guy made the swap and redyno'd.
I think with proper tune, 1.8rr, fast 102 a ls6 could get to 430rwhp....maybe a little over.
Not really, 5.0 mph is down a bit and the only ones running record times are completely gutted race cars. c5 zo6's has been high 11's bone stock.

I am going senile. Completely forgot about 1.8 rockers-another tenth hiding there with springs.

lolz hio is so mad.. Looked like avg results to me if the 5.0 you ran would have put the time and effort you put into your car hio it would have been right there with ya. Boss mani Makes all kinds of power up top guys more bolt-ons for both would give the 5.0 the slight advantage. Would be a good race to watch.
