Default 97 trans am vs 99 camaro ss

i was actually wondering what you guys thought about a race between a 97 trans am lt1 with only a cut out, moroso intake and 150 shot of nos with slicks against my 99 camaro ss with long tube headers, off rd y pipe, magnaflow catback, lid, airfilter, bellow, 160 thermostat, tr 224/224 cam with springs, rods. and i have bf goodrich drag radials on the back. however, it is not tuned so it is still with the stock computer tuning. the race will take place on a 10mph roll. oh yea, both cars are m6. who do you think will win?? give any input as to what your thoughts are... thanks alot

It's a close race, I'll say the LT1 since I'm biased

I think if the LT1 gets a good launch, and uses the spray effectively and has good bottle pressure.. he'll edge you out by 1-2 cars to 100.

Good Luck,
Josh

I would say the LT1 too if he is anywhere near a good driver. Good luck anyway.

my friend with the trans am just raced an 03 cobra that has only a chip,x pipe and flowmaster cat back. he was able to win by a bumper and this was also on a 10mph roll. i am supposed to race the ta sometime this week. what are your impressions now that he raced that 03 cobra? if i do it from a dead stop do i have a shot? or should i race him from a roll? give me any input please. also, if i am doing it from a stop, where do i launch at? what psi do i put on my bf drag radials???

i would go from a launch, since you have dr's... depending on how long the race is will depend if he catches you with the spray... it just depends but no matter how much i love the ls1's, that lt1 would prob most likely take you from a roll... let us know what happens

You're probably a low/mid 12's car (probably mid 12's).
He's coming down from high 13's (if he's a good driver) to low/mid 12's with his 150 shot.

It should be a close race, with him taking the lead in 2nd, and you retaking the lead after the 3-4 shift.

WhiteSS, are you the guy who dropped a lifter during the cam swap? Is the guy with the TA called Sparky?

yea that is me and him that are going to race. it is gonna be a nice one to see and it will probably happen soon. however i am gonna race another car first. i am going to race a 01 vette, automatic with a 2800 stall torque converter, shorties, borla cat back, holley intake, 342s gears. from a roll. this will happen tonight if it doesnt rain. whats your take on that??

You should be able to take the Vette, not by too much, but you'll edge out a carlength or 2.

Hey, so nobody asks me to race them??? Am I chopped liver?
