Hey guys, just got my car. Slp cat back, and lid are the only mods. Auto, 02 trans am. This kid wants to race it with his "stage 2 srt 4 neon" what ever that is. Do I have a chance?

He said 310 hp 330 tq 2900 lbs low 13s. No traction. It sounds like he'll edge me out.

Not sure but I don't think "stage 2" is really always apples to apples. Some s2s seem to run hard, while others don't. Either way a dig is the way to go for you, and this should probably be in the bench racing section. Unless you race soon perhaps.....and get it on video if you can.

Ok thanks guys. This is my first car with traction control, should I use that? Or is that like a weather thing, not meant for launching?

turn it off. run him from a dig or if he has to have a roll do like a 20-30 roll.

Don't run from any speed higher than you can get the car to downshift to first. Dig would be best.

You race from a roll and you don't have much chance IMO.

hahahahaha he said 310hp and 330tq? is he ******* nuts? no stock turbo srt is gonna make over 300whp without meth, e85 or a shot. the tq numbers are realistic, but not gonna happen with stage 2... and low 13s? ask him his mph hell probably say 140 lol maybe on a tire hed make that but he has no traction right? probably never been down the strip in his life. just another idiot giving neons a bad name... im suprised he got the 2900lbs right..

dont worry, stage 2 is just bigger injectors and a tune, if it was stage 3 then hell have a bigger turbo, which THEN you may have something to worry about..

but go hand this idiot kid a beating, get it on tape, from a dig AND from a roll, and then laugh in his face, call him a ricer idiot for doing ricer math with his srt thinking hes anywhere NEAR 300hp (stock srt is 235bhp, and stage 2 is 250bhp)

with a lid and catback, youll beat him for sure. TRUST me.

lol hed do just as well from a roll as he would a dig. its not hard at all to get traction in a lightly modded srt unless youre a retard and dont know how to lift off the pedal a bit. but in the end the srt still wont have a chance. not near enough power to pull it past the camaro.

Last time I saw him he was blabbering about waste gates and crap. Im gunna ask if he's stock turbo. Ive never raced with the auto, I was nervous.

You'll lose if he can drive, my WS6 with LT's got pulled by one, I'll see if I can find the thread. Dig is your best bet. 40 roll and your toast.

^^ do you have any idea what e85 with supporting bolt ons will do for an srt?

no stock turbo srt will ever make over 300whp, but add e85 in there and wow boom there you go.

find out more about the srt. if its stock turbo, not big wheel or anything, and no other power adders, then youll win. a stock turbo will never i repeat never hold more than 17psi and youre not making enough power to beat the camaro.

but dont listen to the guy above me, it WONT give you a good idea of what will happen... that srt with bolt ons and e85 + a real tune is light years ahead of any stg 2 srt.
