My 99 vette vs o3-04 cobra ported blower
Was hanging out with some friends and a white cobra rolls up with drs and challenges my friends vette so I said I wanted in on this also. We was told the cobra made like 550hp to the ground. So my buddy races him with his head and cam vette looked good until both missed 3rd. My turn my cars has long tube headers with clutch and, tick and 100 shot I even have stock c5 cat back minus cats and continental tires. I get next to him he honks it off I spin in 1st and 2nd neck and neck and then traction in 3rd and I started to walk him pretty hard had a full car maybe close to 2. I give him the vette wave as I pulled on him and then hit the flashers. Because he was being a typical terminator guy. He stops and talks to my buddy. He said my car was weak for a nitrous car but I make less power and still stomped him. He told my buddy it was a ported blower and made 490hp. sorry no vid this time

No not yet If I had to guess id say 420-450. Like I said the car is pretty much stock beside the headers. I almost want to leave the stock c5 exhaust and wagon wheels on it to keep it a sleeper. When he told my buddy my car was weak for a nitrous car I told my buddy I thought his car was weak for a ported blower car.

I was thinking to myself and told my buddy hows he going to call my car weak when he got pulled hard. He was being a tool thats why I waved bye to him and then hit the flashers. He told us after words he was actually making 490hp. So who knows. I have a buddy who is pretty good friends with him and has bragged about the car before. Im going to talk to him and get the low down.

Thats about 50-60 hp less that the OP and it was his 2nd race. Heatons pushing that HP heat soak easily because they are spinning much faster. With heat soak goes the power. Not making excuses just stating facts. A loss is a loss but I doubt he was making 550. 550whp Termis are no joke.

Im not saying terminators are jokes either or I wouldnt of wasted my time sharing my story. If you read the first post by me you will see I said we was told it was making 550hp. I didnt think he was making that either. Then after the race the cobra driver told us 490hp. The cobra owner was being a typical cobra douch bag.

Not really but if you cruise a lot and race some its sort of like a LSX running out of Nitrous. Up graded intercoolers help but not everyone has them. It also depends on the ambient temp.
